The drop-off after 8 is probably the biggest in the draft.
Maybe it'll be like the 2017 draft where 6-9 (Cody Glass, Lias Anderson, Casey Middlestadt, Michael Rasmussen) end up substantially worse than 10-14 (Owen Tippett, Gabe Vilardi, Martin Necas, and Nick Suzuki). Not much point stressing too much over a couple spots I think.

Nobody is trading the chance at Wright or Bedard for multiple 1st rounders.

Just like no team traded away a pick when McDavid, Matthews, Crosby etc.
Keep the pick, we need to rebuild.

Does Bouwer think he's going to play again?

And I'm not mad. I was merely responding to someone devaluing draft picks and overvaluing winning this gamd.
The most Flames thing ever would be the Flames trading a big piece this offseason and have as the centrepiece coming back an inferior player who is signed for term and older than the player we trade away. That would be the Flames thing to do.

I think the depth of this draft is affected by the lack of games, not the top end.
All the top ranked talents are top ranked because they’ve been viewed more. That’s why there is a really unusually high percentage of college and Euro players in the top end. I’d bet with more OHL games you’d see a big shift in the rankings.

Anyway, I’ve not seen a consensus drop off in various projections from 8-9. Like, Kent Johnston I’ve seen at 5, 7 or at 9 in recent ones. Lucius I’ve seen both above and below the 8 mark. Eklund has been at 3, 4 and at 9.

In the first intermission he said he is in the middle of getting them fixed and his dentist told him he couldn’t wear his fakes right now.

He actually said his teeth were being fixed and that the dentist told him he had to go toothless for the next while.

The Flames finally figured out how to beat ottawa.... Not even it means playoffs... But when it means a worse draft pick...

Great!

In 2011 there was decent quality in the whole first round and the best C went 7 and the best D went 9. 2012, the best players by and large were in the middle of round one.

I really appreciate the effort tonight, but it would have been really cool if they would have done this against Ottawa in their other games, so I wouldn't be torn between wanting to destroy Ottawa and also wanting to lose

Senators remember what's at stake and are back to committing to the tank. Flames continue the narrative of the franchise in doing what's not best for them.

Even just the last time they played them. Montreal could have split with Edmonton and there still would have been a chance.

Nice for Brouwer moving back to the city contributing tax dollars to the city considering he's still making $1.5m a year from the flames

Teeth or not, I don't mind him in the booth
