First, and I would have thought that this goes without saying, but it was an opinion. Phrases like 'I think that' and 'he looks like' are indicators that I am stating an opinion, not a fact. Therefore, I am not claiming to read his mind, merely assessing what I think his motivations appear to be.
Second, let me ask you an honest question: have you never looked at the behavior of another person and drawn conclusions about their motivations based on their actions? I am going to go ahead and assume that you have. Were you reading their mind, or merely making observations? Not only do we all do this, but it is a standard and practiced way of assessing others.
Sometimes, the way people react to other people's posts can be pretty comical.

Oh, so you were just talking out of your butt.
I figured, I just thought, with the depth of your analysis on his feelings and motivations, you either are in his head or know him pretty personally.

I am totally convinced that ER was reading Philip Brogerg's mind. He's probably reading your mind as I sit here typing this on my phone.

And I think that is as much due to his style of play, and his attitude, as his injury.
He looks like a player who likes to, and expects to, dominate. He likes to rush the puck and do it all himself. He likes to jump into the attack. And he likes to have the puck on his stick. What he clearly doesn't like is having to work for the puck, or play defense.
Against Austria, he was able to do whatever he wanted, and as a result, he was engaged and energetic. But against Russia, he couldn't do those things and quickly lost interest. If you watch him in his own zone, he has very little interest in engaging other players defensively, and was easily beaten, one on one, on numerous occasions. The only time he re-engages is when he thinks he can get the puck back. The exact same issues were prevalent against the Americans, maybe even more so.
The problem that he is going to face is that, in the NHL, he won't have the puck much. He won't be able to dominate. And he will have to play defense a lot more. Unless he changes his attitude, he is in for a rough go of it, IMO.

This is how I think of every Oiler. (When I read their minds) If you inserted the name of any other Oiler prospect or any other current Oiler I wouldn’t question your post once.

Just look at his eyes next time they zoom in. His soul is crushed and screaming.

Unless you don’t know the full extent if his injury, and how much it effected his play, it’s hard to draw any hard conclusions from his play in this tournament.
An injured player may well have been able to dominate against a weak player simply because even with his injury he’s head an shoulders better than his opponent. But against superior players, the injury is more telling.
In tournaments like these where the quality of opponents varies greatly, players often have uneven performances based on the different quality of opponents. I seem to recall that Iggy had the majority of his points against the also rans at his last Olympics, and he was, at the time, an all world player. At this level, when playing against the top players in the world, it’s tough sledding even for players at 100%. If Bromberg was playing at even 80%, he was at a severe disadvantage against the world’s best junior players.

Watch Broberg's shift on Finland's third goal. Last minute of a tie game, and his last shift in the tournament. It is absolutely amazing.
