Bro = Bridge
Berg = Mountain

He's a bridge over a mountain. Or a bridge between mountains. Or an inhabitant under a mountain bridge.

Broberg ate the billy goats gruff! Unsurprisingly that isn't the worst thing someone from Edmonton has done to a goat

Well this lets Zary get a look at center, so not a bad thing

I'm not sure that second comment is actually fair.

In the first two games of this tournament it actually looked like his skating was somewhat poor and he did look slow at times.

Then the last two games he has looked quicker, and even fast at times.

I think the big thing is as mentioned is that he has a bit of an awkward stride and is not an "effortless" skater at all.

He can get going quick but I think he has to really give it a lot of effort to do it. And I think that's it - if he's late in a shift or not giving 100% effort he can look a bit slow, but if he's giving it full effort he can get moving quick, but it doesn't come easy to him.

I agree. If he could develop a more efficient stride, he could improve his acceleration and endurance.

In the video he also talks about moving the forwards around and trying different combinations to generate success. He specifically points to Byfield's line with Pelletier as exhibiting some good chemistry, and then mentions Krebs goal as a good sign of Zary's contribution on that line.

Really glad to see Zary moving to the middle for tomorrow's game. It has been a tough situation for him so far, having to play a role, on the wing, with limited ice-time. And as a result, he has looked a little uncertain about his positioning at times, IMO. Going back to C should allow him to just play.

I thought yesterday was his best game of the tourney so far. Hopefully this will help his confidence even more.

Regarding Broberg, yes I know he is playing injured, but regardless, I see a playing style that I am not fond of. If you look at his 3 games so far, he was really good against Austria, but then really struggled against the Russians and the Americans. And I think that is as much due to his style of play, and his attitude, as his injury.

He looks like a player who likes to, and expects to, dominate. He likes to rush the puck and do it all himself. He likes to jump into the attack. And he likes to have the puck on his stick. What he clearly doesn't like is having to work for the puck, or play defense.

Against Austria, he was able to do whatever he wanted, and as a result, he was engaged and energetic. But against Russia, he couldn't do those things and quickly lost interest. If you watch him in his own zone, he has very little interest in engaging other players defensively, and was easily beaten, one on one, on numerous occasions. The only time he re-engages is when he thinks he can get the puck back. The exact same issues were prevalent against the Americans, maybe even more so.

The problem that he is going to face is that, in the NHL, he won't have the puck much. He won't be able to dominate. And he will have to play defense a lot more. Unless he changes his attitude, he is in for a rough go of it, IMO.

Honest question: How are you reading his mind to understand his thoughts and feelings so deeply?

lol

Since it is an honest question, I will attempt to answer.

First, and I would have thought that this goes without saying, but it was an opinion. Phrases like 'I think that' and 'he looks like' are indicators that I am stating an opinion, not a fact. Therefore, I am not claiming to read his mind, merely assessing what I think his motivations appear to be.

Second, let me ask you an honest question: have you never looked at the behavior of another person and drawn conclusions about their motivations based on their actions? I am going to go ahead and assume that you have. Were you reading their mind, or merely making observations? Not only do we all do this, but it is a standard and practiced way of assessing others.

Sometimes, the way people react to other people's posts can be pretty comical.
