That time where Tkachuk initiated the contact in the tunnel during a tv timeout. It isn't a completely dissimilar situation, but the fact that the Detroit player came back onto the ice and was suspended for 10 games is one of the big reasons that Tkachuk was suspended I thought.

Both Ferland and the player who grabbed his stick should be suspended. 1 game each for moronitude.

You can't be grabbing sticks or engaging players from the bench - that needs to be punished.

But in no way does that give someone a green light to spear another player. He needed to be suspended for that.

Unbelievable shot by Pearson puts Vancouver up 1-0.

One series is already over and this one is only starting Game 2.

I was going to say, this is game 2, right? The graphic on Sportsnet shows "Series Tied 1-1". Thought I was losing my mind.

Is Virtanen not playing once again for the Canucks? 18 goal scorer scratched for the second straight game in the playoffs.

He's playing, as is Eriksson for whatever reason... It looks like Gaudette is out and I don't see Tyler Toffoli - maybe unfit to play?

EDIT: Yep. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/ho...le-for-game-2/

I criticized the Miller acquisition, more the price paid to get him but has he ever been good for this canucks team. Everything you want in a player.

This is a really late game for Minnesotans.

Interesting how that trade is playing out. The conditional first round pick that Vancouver sent to Tampa was going to be a 2020 first round pick as long as it wasn’t a lottery pick. At this point, I believe the highest that pick can be this year is 8th overall. If they lose the play-in round and win first overall... the pick is deferred to next year in the first round.

I think it gets deferred no matter what if they lose.

Anyone who thought the Canucks lost game 1 because they didn't get enough power plays is certainly learning otherwise.

They said it might be from a shot block. I'm skeptical though.
