These guys seem to fold up the tent and die at the first sign of adversity. I think last year's playoff spanking at the hands of Colorado severely rattled this team, and they're still feeling the effects. They clearly have zero confidence right now, and that swagger we saw during the regular season last year has all but disappeared. Not sure what the answer is, but they'd better figure it out quick.

I definitely think there's something to this, but I don't think it'll take too long to figure out. I think they just need a good road trip to gel with the boys and get the focus back on hockey. This has never been a good October hockey team, even last season

When did this become such a dump-and-chase team? System or execution?

The fact that the team consistently starts games down is a real concern. And it goes back much further than the start of this season.

That's a sick trip by Hertl, not good.

Only if you start it. I'm not sure what this has to do with Peter's. Hes trying to get something out of them. Honestly hasn't been given much to work with. Top line is doing things, 2nd line is half awake. Bottom six needs a shake up.
D pairings have been solid for the most part.
Ritter aside from last night has done what's needed.
Just an overall lack of elevating their game is the problem. Still stuck in 2nd gear IMO. Nothing to do with Peter's.

I think a bit of both. We've been playing some teams that have defended tightly too

This team is so terrible at possession, and this goes back to last season. The way they enter the zone, they end up trapping themselves. This is why the PP is so horrible. They have no space despite having more players than the opposing team.
The offense is dead until they finally get their head out of their ass, and try something different. It's not working, and hasn't been for most of this year.

Oh, it has nothing to do with Peters. I completely agree with you.

Lmao this team is off to an UGLY repeat of the playoff collapse on all fronts.
Can’t rely on the top 3 putting up career years again and expect to make the show.. we need depth.
