I’m fully expecting the Flames to pack up for the night after that second goal.

For sure. He's got a good thing going so far, roll with it.

Figures that the Flames finally find the shot clock in the first period, and our goalie decides to wait a period to start playing

Nice move by Backs but shot was right into the belly of Jones.

Jones hasn't looked good tonight, or all year. Flames very much still in this

that entry defense by Brodie / Gio / Bennett was what we need from every line/pair, every shift.

There's certainly a good argument to be made for that, but I think it's much more than just Oiler stink.

These guys seem to fold up the tent and die at the first sign of adversity. I think last year's playoff spanking at the hands of Colorado severely rattled this team, and they're still feeling the effects. They clearly have zero confidence right now, and that swagger we saw during the regular season last year has all but disappeared. Not sure what the answer is, but they'd better figure it out quick.

I don't care if this sounds homer/bias or not. Gio and TJ have the best chemistry in the d-pairings and they make one another more effective and more comfortable.

This isn't the game plan, dumping it in is plan B or C when there's nothing available and the alternative is turning the puck over.

On a positive note the officials are not actually dictating the game tonight so far. Nice change.

My biggest concern with the team right now is I don't feel like there's a threat to score at all when the 3/4 lines are on.

They came back from 3-0 in game 3 and 2-0 in game 4....
