Not reviewable. He hit the puck a second time below the cross bar. So only the second touch is reviewable. It is the cut off point for how it can be reviewed.

I thought the kings were going to challenge for a hand pass at the blue line on the 3rd flames goal

Yes, it should have been whistled down. I agree with you, but the argument is that miscalls happen in an imperfect game all the time. In a bang-bang play like Tkachuk's goal, I could see it being difficult for a referee to call it high sticking on the ice; and that imperfection from referees is part of the game (until more accurate technology in the future replaces referees).

“A little stale”?

That’s as bad a first period as you will see.

The Kings 3rd goal was inconclusive...pretty close to a high stick as well

The Kings players “fine” each other $2k (I think) for each time someone says “Tkachuk” which is why he doesn’t say his name. Doughty went on a rant late last year and said Tkachuk 4-5 times and cost him ~$10k in player “fines”

Also, Mangiapane needs more love. He looked great on the second line.

Clearly above his shoulders. Almost above his head.

Edit: freeze frame: https://twitter.com/mike_ray34/statu...615621120?s=21

Not even close, really.

Jankowski looks terrible. Definitely the weakest link right now. If dube had shown up in camp, I wonder if Janko would be sitting right now?

Bennett does not play well on the right side...maybe play him at center if there's no spot for him at RW

Reider looks pretty replaceable to me. The entire fourth line is pretty forgettable without Mangiapane.

You can't tell conclusively from that angle. What about the corner camera? That one would be more definitive.

yeah people are totally ignoring the angle...anyway who cares

Flames get constantly shafted...when they are down the refs put the whistles away, when they are up or tied its a parade to the box

Bennett blew it. Bad penalty to take right after tying the game.

Edited to include freeze frame with puck on stick. It is clearly high.

Flames do need something more...but lets not forget its game three. The team come playoff time will have some upgrades IMO

Peters said it himself the other day that they haven’t figured out the best lineup yet. PP is giving momentum away (even though they’ve scored some) but maybe it’s just repetition that’s needed.

It was great they came back, down 3-0 against a team desperate to get a win but they can’t play like that at home. Just terrible to come out like that at home. Inexcusable.

They haven’t found their game, their rhythm yet but still have points in 2 out of 3. They have a really high level in them that they haven’t found yet - the execution can be so much better.

CGY just needs a few more guys to bring it consistently as you never get everyone playing their best at the same time. CGY needs to be more hunter like out there, hungrier. You can live with mistakes if they are playing fast but CGY is not coming out of the gates playing fast. You have to credit the opponent also.

CGY has to learn quick that it will be harder this year but that’s good, they should relish the challenge. Show what they’re really made of, not sulk and just learn and improve. Play with some urgency like they have to prove themselves over and over.

I see that in Rittich- he’s battling but playing free at the same time.

Let’s not. I have a feeling the points will be tougher to come by this year.

Jankowski needs to be swapped with either Quine or Dube tomorrow.
Stone should have been in over Kylington for this matchup.

Kylington-Andersson was one of the only bright spots tonight.
