GG - They weren't good enough. Me - Ha. Ha. GG - Needs someone to step up and find a way to win a game. Stop being a victim. Me. - Ha. Ha. Me - Is sucking part of the game plan because it sure looks like it? Ha. Ha.

If they continue looking like this by December I don't see how you don't fire the coach. What's the point of keeping him? May as well prepare for next season.

They were actually doing pretty good until Chiasson's 2nd undiscipline penalty. They have the momentum at that point. I wanted this guy to succeed but I don't think he is cutting it as a first liner.
Power play failed us again tonight and Dave Cameron needs to go soon if the PP doesn't improve. I just don't have any faith that he is the right guy for this job. Maybe let Gelinas coach the PP.

At least if the system they were playing was entertaining you could forgive a few losses.
Losing and playing boring hockey is going to empty the Saddledome quickly. Wonder how many season ticket holders are going to re-up next year if changes to the coaches and style aren't made.

Do we even need a coach to tell the team to do same the move over and over again?

I don't disagree the PP sucks, but what did it have to do with Chiasson?

Watching Gulutzan after Johnny's tying goal...not a hint of a smile. No emotion. Nothing
Maybe he did something or the ol' back pat when the cams weren't on him

I'm with you there, Chiasson didn't touch the puck in that clip... I was countering that comment the GIF showed 'nothing'.

I can't be the only one that isn't even really that upset anymore. Just kind of numb to it. Boring, losing hockey makes you not care as much anymore.
Just want to have fun watching them on a consistent basis.

Got back from the game. Turns out they are worse live than on TV.
Some thoughts:
- PK looked okay early but broke down pretty quick. The last PP (3-2 goal) was just a nightmare.
- PP is...slightly better than before. Very predictable but at least gaining entry on this bad Stars team. A 1 or 2/10 over the 0.5/10 they were heading in. I guess that's what you get out of a couple days of practice. The best they got tonight was to have a chance or two.
- Flames look lost in the system their told to play. I think I'll agree with AcGold's assessment of overcoaching. Each play seems built for execution but the Flames seem stuck and unsure which play to do. They all hesitate, get the pass off by a foot or mechanically attempt to apply a round peg move to a square hole situation (ex - attempt a stretch lateral pass when there's two ready to intercept)...and turn the puck over. Offensively, they all attempt things they aren't good at and mechanically apply Gulutzan's offensive system. Dump the puck in, forecheck (which the bottom 6 does somewhat well), and go for a tip or deflected goal. They got lucky a couple times tonight and Gaudreau was the beneficiary. ..but it's mostly proven to result in lots of shots with almost no chance of a goal.
-- At this point, even if Gulutzan is a good coach...I think it's clear his system and the Flames' talents aren't a match. Whether the Flames are just incapable learning it or Gulutzan just makes a mess of the system he wants them to play, it probably won't ever come together. I'll eat my words if it happens. But I just haven't seen much improvement since the spanking by the Oilers outside that blip against Chicago and St Louis.
- The team seems absolutely defeated mentally. They basically gave up after the first goal.

17 Games over 500. That's what we have to do the rest of the way to hit 95 points.
Season is over before Remembrance Day.

^^
No doubt. Especially this. They look like they have given up easily ever since the 2nd goal scored by the LA Kings on them in that 5-0 loss.
