I wonder if it was a friend of the family or something.
Godmother mentions she knows who it is, but police don't have the father in custody.

I'm so terribly saddened by this whole case. The first thing I do when I wake up is check Twitter hoping to read some good news. However, each passing day just makes me feel more concerned for the little girl. I just pray that Taliyah is found safe and alive.
If that was really Taliyah who people saw with the suitcase and the black male.. you would have to figure it would be someone who she knew. If it was a stranger, she would probably be screaming, making a scene and not cooperating with that male.

I hate this. Absolutely, unconditionally hate this.
That poor little girl. Scared, alone. Nothing should ever make a child feel that way.

new BF maybe? Someone familiar enough with the child to take them somewhere and then be worried about identification.
If you kill someone you have a relationship with, you're going to get caught. Don't kill a child because you think you're covering up evidence.
It's just so senseless.

I've tried to stay positive about this, admittedly by avoiding thinking about the worst. But today's developments have really given me that horrible feeling in my stomach. I really do now fear that the police press conference at 2:30 is going to be very troubling.

I haven't seen anything on twitter yet about the tarp, so I'm going to remain positive. If it turns out badly, I think I'll start believing in hell just so I can know the scum who did this will end up there.

I don't think this is true. They're still actively searching the area and the Amber alert hasn't been cancelled.

Could be placing a tarp to preserve evidence (foot prints, tire tracks etc). Whole lot of rain lately.

I was watching the same broadcast. Searchers found a tarp in the field and were unrolling it searching for any evidence.

I was in the area about 15 minutes ago flying my drone and the reporters are still on scene and they seemed relaxed and smiling and just talking regularly so I doubt if something was up they'd be standing around talking to each other.

Yeah and if it were, the alert wouldn't instantly be cancelled. Takes a bit of time for that process to go through.

I find it a little unsettling you are flying a drone around an active crime scene..

The CTV news report I just watched online said that a police officer was seen picking up a teddy bear and putting it in a plastic bag.
