I'm sure Johnny and Mony will be sad to see him go. Thanks Jiri for all the efforts in helping your two line mates out - particularly last year.

Good luck in Florida. Enjoy playing with Jagr.

Maybe someone will cone up with a Jiri Jagr doll. It would have a long curly black mullet and no shoes!

About what I was expecting. Was thinking 2nd and a third similar to what Glencross got.

At least Jiri really picked up the last few weeks, or we might just be looking at the 4th by itself! Of course, if he played liked he did last year, it could've been a 1st (or more).

Sad to see him go, as I alway liked his leadership qualities (and it's always nice to see some Czechs on the team), but he clearly was not part of the long-term plans, so you gotta get something.

Yup, an earlier version of the L.A. Kings is what this Panthers team basically is. Except Luongo is a whole lot older than Quick.

I'm curious to ask those who believe this wasn't an adequate return;

What would have been satisfactory in your opinion?

Keeping in mind he is 32, a UFA, and has not played well at all until the last 6 weeks or so.

Right now Hudler was clearly the #1 RW on the Flames.

11 pts in 12 games +6 in February.

Frolik's very best Month was October with 8 pts in 12 games -1

Are people still thinking that Frolik was a good UFA signing.

Ladd was asking around 6M and he was woth 2 first round picks as a rental.

Tell me again that the GRIT index is meaningless.

If someone had told me the 2nd pick to be received was from 2018, I would have expected a 2nd. No one really knows what the market was but with the way he played recently I'm a little disappointed. Florida gets a very solid player at little cost. Good trade for them.

I voted less than expected - not because I necessarily thought Hudler was worth more, but thought there was a possibility that someone would pay a premium and possibly net the Flames a first. Didn't happen, so just means the trade market may not be quite as frenetic as some of us were hoping.

I don't think you need the GRIT index (?) to tell you we got about fair value for the player.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if the Panthers win the cup. They don't hold statistically on to the puck very well. Their score-adjusted FF% is 48.6%. For reference Calgary's is 47.8%, Anaheim's is 54.1%, LA's is 56.2% and we all know about the un-needed firepower Chicago just added.

a 2016 first and a 2013 first round pick with 40 NHL games.

Hudler had 1 more point than Ladd.

Yes. It was and is a good signing. Stop your nonsense.

Yes...it's meaningless. You're never going to convince anyone that it isn't.

I think I'm disappointed because I was hoping for younger players or prospects as opposed to picks, but the value seems fair.

And yes Ricardo, Frolik was a very good UFA signing. It's not all about the points.

And the GRIT index is ridiculous.

It's meaingless, and you come off as a sad clown for continually trying to push your absurdity.

Voted less than expected. But not a bad return. I was thinking we cold have managed a first, even if we had to add a prospect or lower pick.

We know Treliving is one of the most active GMs. He no doubt asked every team about their interest and took the best offer. Obviously.

You could argue maybe if we wait until the very deadline a team might increase their offer. However there's also the chance Florida would have looked elsewhere and taken their offer off the table. Then you're accepting a backup offer of maybe just a 2nd.
Yeah, generally if its just for picks this was the best offer they heard. I think there is some merit to arguing over prospects, but if its straight picks that's probably the best offer they got

Also Hudler can really only play a limited role, and with durability questions since the end of last year you gotta think that turned off a lot of teams

yep the small no contact lady Bingers players are what everyone wants where they go to war in the playoffs.

The Jets and the Flames are very equivalent team for the last 2 years and Hudler and Ladd had significant and similar roles on the teams. Ladd takes stupid penalties and Hudler avoids all contact.

why 2 firsts for Ladd and a 2nd and 4th for Hudler?

Crap just Dano without the 2016 first is a far better addition that the Jets got for Ladd than getting Hudler out of town.
