Leafs play tonight. I imagine word will come out today on any suspension.

I just don't get a guy like Kadri threatening anybody. Don't you have to have an ounce of an ability to back it up. His attempts to hit Giordano the rest of the night was all the proof I need that he shouldn't be passing out insults and threats he can't back up.

I passed an old lady in this old green monster car last summer on the number one highway. She flipped me the bird for literally no reason.

This reminded me a lot of that.

From @RealKyper No @NHL suspension for #Leafs Kadri regarding throat slash gesture vs #Flames. He will be fined. @SNHockeyCentral

No surprise. Normally would be a 1 game suspension, but add in the Leafs factor and he gets a fine only.

Kypreos gets a lot of flack, but his predictions are often right.

Threats from Kadri are real. He is a dirty player who will go outside the confines of the rules to enact revenge.

He tried the flying Elbow on Giordano following the Gardiner goal in the 3rd. Giordano ducked out of the way and Kadri went ass over tea kettle, but he threw the elbow all the same.

Kadri is a dirty rat of a player.

So a blow job gesture gets you 2 games, but a throat slash gesture incl "you're ####ing dead" gets you nothing. Awesome job, NHL.

It's not about it being a big deal. I doubt Giordano or the Flames actually care. It's about the NHL having some semblance of consistency. If you're going to suspend other players for doing it, you have to suspend all players who do it.

Cool. So you can make throat slash gesture without much penalty. Got it.

I think it's pretty obvious... The NHL gave the ol' wheel of justice a spin.

Right. He plays for the Leafs... That's an 82-game punishment right there.

Sometimes these fines are so laughable. What's $5,000 to an NHLer? Literally nothing.

There is probably a good handful of CPers to whom $5000 is also nothing.

5000 thousand dollars is a pretty hefty fine for 1 minute of losing some composure

I wish the police could issue a 5000 thousand dollar fine for every uttering threat charge. That would likely cease all threats in society.

The second incident wasn't during a game. He did it while starring in a Jack Carter Chevrolet commercial. It was kind of weird, in hindsight.
