Being honest, you could take every disparaging post you've ever made about Hiller (and there are a ton of them), swap in Ramo's name, and there would be no difference.

We've won a lot of games in spite of Ramo. Yes he's been good in stretches, but he's wildly inconsistent. He'll make a ridiculous highlight reel save and then let in a softie because he's not hugging the post.

Both our goalies are wildly inconsistent, and not bonafide NHL starters.

Want to note that I've been a Granlund fan for a long time so I'm happy to see him performing at this level. Although it's been a long road for him, he's been developed perfectly by the organization. And even though I don't think he was utilized to his strengths in his previous call ups, it's finally happening now and his patience has paid off. At one of his first development camps I saw his beast of a shot and pegged that immediately as his asset that would be his ticket to the NHL one day. However he's a pretty polished player overall and has been seasoned on the PK as well which helps. Looks to have the confidence to be a mainstay and I think he'll step out of the shadow of his brother and establish himself as a guy that could potentially put up 20 goals in the league.

Not the prettiest win, but I'll take it. Especially with Hiller, sounded like he shouldn't have even dressed. Kinda strange to see some posters slamming his play, if there was ever a free pass to give him tonight was the night.

Like seeing all 4 lines play. Looks like it's paying off now getting everyone some ice.

The special teams are still looking like a disaster. You can win a few games here and there, but having a brutal GAA combined with the worst special teams on the planet won't get you into the playoffs. Working on the PK and PP should be priority #1 for the foreseeable future. Absolutely has to start improving.

Risto is a stud. And not just because of his 3 goals, but a huge, good skating d-man who can play in all 3 zones is a nice player to build your team around. Looks like a steal for the Sabres.

Hopefully the boys can get away from the flu and keep rolling. Only 2 games under .500, feels more like 10 games under. Might as well keep it going and see what happens.

Only saw the second half, but in that half I didn't see any passengers. Everyone played their role pretty well. Thought Ferland made the most of his unexpected start, thought Colborne was just fine and I don't understand the criticism of him, Granlund is continuing to impress when playing with Bennett, and even Raymond was pretty decent - he's been way more aggressive on the puck for about three games or so. It's getting so I am not sure where exactly Bouma will slot in best. You'd think on the second or third line, but a Ferland, Stajan, Bouma line would be pretty savage.

"Fingers crossed, I would LOVE it if Gaudreau tried to dangle in front of Nurse... Man/Beast would play the man and not the puck and FLATTEN him."

Another I found around the league. Oilers Fan. Followed by

"Watching the game it was quite obvious the Sabres still hasn't recovered from the BEATDOWN the Oilers gave them... Totally flat until the 3rd. Good job by the flames taking advantage of that."

According to Hartley in the post-game interview, Ramo and Hudler couldn't dress because they were busy throwing up. The team actually played the whole game without a backup on the bench because Ramo was too sick to sit there. Hiller had to leave practice yesterday because of the flu and missed the morning skate today, so good on him just for being there. Luckily, he was as good as he needed to be.

Tonight, by the way, was the first time this year I've made it to a game in person. Crowd was mostly dead quiet until the phantom penalty against Bennett (‘Calgary penalty to #93: Two minutes for being named Sam’) and the blatant non-call on Frolik getting pancaked into the boards. Lively finish, but it seemed like the players lost the plot just when the fans woke up.

Hope they don't rush him back against the Rangers.

I'm always against moves that can potentially disturb the chemistry going during a good streak.

And well even though I like the guy, his presence hasn't really been missed.

Probably thanks to Laddy Smid putting up some real quality minutes. What a rebound for that guy.

Might have to ask Ryan Lambert about Dennis Engelland, I am sure he knows all about him.

Don't want to be 'that' guy, but I think it's Raymond. And I don't even hate Raymond. And he's been ok the past couple of games. But at the end of the day he just doesn't get much done. He's speedy and can look like he's doing something but I don't think he would be missed at all if he's sat. At least Bouma brings some sandpaper and should help the horrid PK. And Granlund has earned a spot, easily.

I don't think a player that was taken 8th overall in a draft that turns into a decent NHL player can be called a steal.

Just got back from the game. Hiller just needs to be done in a Flames uniform. I know people will say he is sick or point to the Wideman deflection, but these have nothing to do with the fact that this guy is on his knees from the minute the puck enters the blue line. Sliding around on his knees from post to post leaving the entire top half of the net open and not having his stick on the ice which creates a gaping hole that pucks are constantly rolling through (see Wideman deflection and multiple other plays that just trickled wide). Probably has some of the worst rebound control I've ever seen (seems to be getting worse).

I'm no Ramo fan, but with Hiller whenever the puck is in our, I have a feeling of uneasiness. They can go in from anywhere on this guy.

Basically this just proves that both goalies are pretty brutal. Hope both are gone before next season starts. I'll give Ramo credit though, he's played pretty well lately.

Darren Haynes @DarrenWHaynes
Odd stats tonight:
- Granlund (19:21) played more than Monahan (18:05)
- Ferland with 5 hits in 7:50
- Ferland and Granlund 10-8 in faceoffs

Probably. Unless it's Ferland, who was going to sit tonight.

If he takes Raymond's place it's a bit of a weird line - I don't know that he fits well with Backlund, so more line juggling would take place. Maybe he plays with Bennett and Colborne and Granlund moves with Backlund. But that line's been doing great as well.

Didn't Bouma play with Backlund most of last year? Played as well as anyone could play with Backlund.

Sure it can. Huge, good skating d-men that can log a ton of minutes are pretty rare. Time will tell, but he's looks like a sleeper.

What has Steinberg been smoking

Still thinks Granlund isn't ready for full time NHL yet, should be automatic send down when Bouma returns. Really..what else does he need to do?
