I am expecting the cap on fines to increase dramatically in the next CBA.

The NHLPA will fight it hard and the NHL would probably rather get concessions that result in them making more money rather than ones that result in higher fines for players.

The real fines are when the players are suspended. That's the equivalent of a fine worth tens of thousands of dollars.

Prust makes more than 30k per game.

a 5k penalty is about 4 shifts worth of hockey for Prust.

Fines in the NHL are a joke.

GAMES are what matter. Missing Games.

Cause pain, get under the guy's skin. If causing pain is an injury, and that's the hill you're going to stand on, then every body check, headlock in a scrum is intent to injure. As is every gloved punch in the face and every slash on the arms or to the back of the leg. If we're talking about an injury that affects his ability to play in the future, then no, I highly doubt that is his intent. There's be a thousand suspensions this year.

I'm not defending Prust, he's cowardly and says he plays the game according to some "code" that seems to at the very least be extremely arbitrary. It's a dirty play and I don't like it. Doesn't mean we should suspend every play we don't like

Again, in the at least thirty examples I found in a very quick google search (3 in the last week alone, 2 on the same night) NO ONE GOT INJURED. In fact, I searched pretty hard and couldn't find a single injury from it despite so many examples. Certainly no one died.

We should be trying to get rid of all of that garbage from the game. If that means increasing penalties, fines and suspensions in the short term then I'm good with that.
