The 93 team was a legitimate Cup contender stuffed with stud vets.

The 14 team is kids just learning. This is all gravy, remember. These guys are going to get a lot better together. Oh, and this team is missing its best player and its top line is clearly not 100%.

There are no real easy comparisons for this team. If they hit on this year's first rounder, and improve as a group, look out.

This is no repeat of 93, no matter how this series ends.

Besides, they'll probably win this series.

- Hudler & Monahan were absolutely pitiful (they haven't been good this series)

- Johnny Hockey is awesome (despite the toe drag attempt in the 3rd)

- Backkund was the best player on the ice for us (SUPER impressed by him)

- I HATE mason raymond

You also have to wonder if all the ice time is catching up to Wideman -- he had less than nothing tonight.
I thought about that but you can't fault him for having faith in the guys that got them here. If Hudler and Monahan are not 100% maybe he's going to have to look at making a change in the bottom 6 to add a spark like Raymond out and Poirier in.

If there is one thing positive its the lessons learned tonight will be applied on Saturday. This team has shown amazing resilience. The Flames will play with more intensity on Saturday and the energy the fans at the dome give them will help push the Flames over the top. Also, Hartley is a much better coach and last change will be huge for the Flames

First two games in Vancouver no physical dominance. 2 games in Calgary , Flames absolutely intimidating the opponent throwing hits left and right.

Flqmes backed off and let the Canucks win. May aswell of been the ones waving the white flag tonight.
You could see the momentum shifting late in the first when the Canucks started hitting us hard. It was all Vancouver from that point on.

Hudler and Monahan looked like their old selves in game 4 but tonight played like they did in games 1 and 2. Hudler looked lost on the first Canuck goal, and there's too many extra cutesy passes between all three guys on the top line. Monahan (injured?) couldn't stickhandle with the puck for very long and looked like he was trying to get rid of the puck as soon as he got it.

It's going to be very interesting to see how we respond in game 6.

Getting outshot 43-21 is asking rather a lot of your goalie.

They just need to do what they did in games 3-4 and they'll win in a walk.

We can't be outshot 2 to 1 for sure in the next game. I am not sure why our first line cannot handle the Sedin line but Stajan's line can!? Stajan is playing a large role that we expected.
Backlund had a nice game. Good puck control and passing. Jooris IMO hasn't showed up in the series. He handles the puck like a grenade. We need the Jooris of mid season.

Back at home we need to contain the opponent and not allow 40 shots on goal. Most of the second period we didn't show anything.

Raymond had the game in his hand and you can see that he's not a confident player.

You could see him thinking on the breakaway about what he was going to do and he didn't make a decision.

The Blackhawks didn't finish off the Predators tonight. You know, that Stanley Cup winning team with some of the best players in the game. Guess they should all be shot and buried too like some of you are saying we should do to all the players that have excited and make us love Flames hockey this year. Chill out, guys. They will learn from this and win on Saturday. Give them a fricking chance.

Cant win like that most nights.

Get em Saturday.

At the end of the day, the Flames tried to sit on a 1-0 lead instead of keeping their foot on the pedal... Honestly, if Raymond burried that breakaway, it's probably an entirely different result.
