I don't think you can ruin McDavid. He's NHL ready yesterday. Same with Eichel. They're both plug and play players.

And it will definitely help Edmonton get a quality coach too. I'm sure some good coaches would love to get their hands on McDavid.

Not one of their other 1st overalls carried talent this guy does.

Im happy for my Oiler fan friends who've suffered far too long that they get this kid. Hate that the Oilers got him. If that makes sense. Don;t really care about the rest of the nincompoop fan base but the ones I know are good eggs. they deserve McDavid at the very least.

Best thing that happens for the Flames is McDavid reports and the Oilers machine does its thing, don't want a repeat of Lindros creating a bidding was that allows the Oilers to retool like the Nords/Avs did with Philly.

I find it interesting the McDavid's NHL equivalency is 63 points, haven't seem him play except highlights but the stats don't say everything and it's not like it was McDavid singlehandedly carrying his team to the conference finals, was it?

McDavid doesn't fix all their problems. Scrivens is still their starting goalie, they still have a terrible d-core and they've had one or two players drafted outside of the first round that have made any impact in the NHL since their rebuild began. The culture is still the same and unless management off loads some of the current leaders of the no good culture I highly doubt McDavid is going to be able to come in there and convince guys that have gotten use to collecting a paycheque and not worrying about anything else that they should do anything different.

My biggest problem with this, besides of course being a Flames fan who hates the Oilers...

Three other teams could have realistically, probabilistically, got the opportunity to pick 1st overall.

Three fan bases lose that opportunity of excitement because of the Oilers. Oilers fans have already experienced it three times before.

There is nothing special here. It's so anticlimactic that it would be hilarious if it wasn't so unbelievable.
