I tuned in right before the Tanguay goal and was tempted to turn it off saying "nahhhh, they can't do it again". Sure enough, they score and I wake all my roommates in laughter. All I could after Monahan's goal was laugh for a solid 5 minutes.
What is the origin of Monahan and toast?

This might get lost in the gif parade, but I thought Smid had a really good game tonight. Jumped into the play a couple times. Made some smart pinches. A couple shots on goal as opposed to his usual safe dump into the corner.

Really think the difference between Monahan and MacKinnon isn't that big. Unreal how he is already dominating games this early his career. They're both gonna be elite - wouldn't surprise me if 10 years from now people are saying Monahan should have been drafted top 3.
Russell quietly also had 3 assists tonight.
