I think the Oil are getting similar treatment to us last October. Their reputation for suck has spread far and wide, and now teams are coming in expecting to cruise to a win, when there's a ton of scrutiny and pressure on the Oilers to perform. Not sure if the Lightning will make the same mistake tomorrow. One can hope.

They are, but as with every game, for as good as one team plays, the other has to be playing poorly and man the Lightning are off their game tonight. Edmonton have benefitted massively from Hedman being out and the Bolts top line looking barely interested throughout the first 40 minutes.

But, credit where its due, the Oil have been sound in their own zone, the mistakes have been limited, the effort has been decent and they have excellent on the PK. Got to see it through now.

Also that Marincin has been one hell of a defenseman for the Oilers in the 2 games that he's played. I think they finally have a shut down dman in this guy and did well to send Nurse to the OHL and call this guy up from the AHL.

If the Oilers can extrapolate this effort over 1.75 games over the rest of the season...they will be fighting for 8-10 spots in the west or I don't know how to say it....a wild card spot?

This much Oiler praise is making me want to throw up a little bit.

Eakins' body language after each goal against is just awful and uninspiring.
