I don't get this logic.
No matter who the agent is, the player has the final say in the deal he signs. It shouldn't always be about raping the organization you play for to keep your services.
Chances are very very likely Brodie likes the fit and the direction and upside the team is heading in, knows he's a key component and didn't need to gauge the Flames on a new deal. Term was a bigger factor for him maybe. Its just guess work on my part but there's also a certain over valuation of players by fans going on right now too.
