The impressions I've gotten from comments by Ward about Sven is he needs to get mentally stronger. He needs to grow up a little mentally and physically.
He is a European prospect and the smaller ones usually take a bit longer to physically mature and feel comfortable in the NHL.
His work ethic or character have never been put into question, it's about maturity. You need to be mentally and physically prepared to play in the show or else you will probably fizzle out.
Sven is going through a tough year, how he responds and deals with it will go along way.
But I'm sick of everyone giving up on him.
He is skilled enough and determined enough, I still have faith in you Sven!

holy crap what a bunch of self-righteous people in here. If anyone needs to grow up it's the lot of you, seriously, getting offended for Sven is some lower level cognitive functioning. It's not wrong to wonder, maybe Sven's as clean cut as it gets and there are no issues, I don't know so I was hoping someone could fill me in on what could potentially be holding him back, that's it. Now go ahead, continue patting yourselfves on the back for something completely false. It just wreaks of ego and narcissism in here.

I think if he does attend Sven will/would look at rookie camp a completely different way. Last year it seemed that Sven thought he had a guaranteed roster spot. I highly doubt he will think that going into this years camp.
I do hope he heals in time for rookie camp. I could see him putting on a clinic.

Bad break for Sven to tie up a pretty terrible year.
Have a lot of faith in the kid, we have to remember that his drive to succeed and training regimen was one of the things we were really excited about with this kid (besides his obvious skill). Can't blame him for getting down on himself, but it's great that the coaching staff has recognized it.
Excited to see what a Sven training camp vengeance is going to look like, but this would have been a great stride towards putting the pieces together.
