That wasn't the offending tweet. She said Byron is only 5'8", and said the Sedins were soft.

Would have liked Bob to respond to Torts' accusations that the Flames were trash talking while Sedin was down.

Tortorella didn't say the Flames players were trash talking. Just Hartley.

Excited about next year but this last week or so has shown that we are thin in our depth on defence and need to add some size and experience. Not a fan of Cundari. He was terrible last night.

I'm no docter but.,. I am a phyics major. He did go down rather softly. Byron w seemed to be traveling at 20 kms at that point he's producing 278. Watts of power. Sedin is going about 190 Watts of power . per square inch of force is contact 40 pounds per inch of pressure. Whick if he was ready for a hit would not barely move him a inch or more. If I was Hartley I'd bitch too.

Simply put, the Canucks are the scummiest organization in professional sports. Edmonton may be the saddest, but the Canucks take the award for biggest dirtbags, for sure. Torts is just the icing on the cake. Figures that he would find his way there, the two were made for each other.
Everybody I was watching the game with thought Daniel was selling it at first, too. Kristen was not alone. It's Paul friggin Byron, I didn't think he could actually hurt a guy 5-6" bigger than him with a shove from behind along the boards. It wasn't exactly clean, but didn't look like it had that much force, either. I'm glad Daniel's alright, but seriously doubt there was much intentional disrespect towards Daniel coming from our bench. The players looked genuinely concerned, all of them. And Bob isn't that kind of guy. I think Torts is trying to paint him in a bad image to the public in retaliation for Bob making him look like a moron and getting his ### booted, leading to his downfall and likely firing in the coming days.

Thinking back to September/October and the 'who will score the first goal' thread, I guess no one would have thought the answer to the question 'who will score the last goal' would be Johnny Gaudreau. It just seems like a bit of a surreal ending to the season, Gaudreau scores his first goal as the Flames's last.

Just a mess of a game, but when you looked at our defense it wasn't really such a surprise. Billins, Breen and Cundari combined for 25 career NHL games before this one. That's getting close to a literal AHL defense. Add in Arnold and Gaudreau, and that's just a lot of inexperienced guys for one game.
The whole team looked like they'd been partying the night before, just really flat and disorganized. It's too bad, but doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.
The Canucks on the other hand really needed this high note to end the season, especially after getting embarrassed by the Oilers, so that makes this result even less surprising.
What ever. First top 5 pick forever. When's the draft lottery?

Not much good to say about the game, JG scored which was fantastic to see at least!
Beyond that, it sort of astounds me that so many Canucks fans are so shocked and upset that nearly everyone watching the game that's not a said Canucks fan thought for the first minute that Sedin was just milking the play for a penalty. The two of them have built a career around diving and embellishing and this is very widely known around the league. Some journalist makes a quick "Wow look another dive" followed by a retraction and an apology and the Vancouver fans, classy as they are, fly off the deep end.
Guess that old "the boy that cried wolf" story never made it west of the Rockies.

I hope she reports the scumbags that threatened to kill her and have them arrested for uttering death threats.
Vancouver is a city full of computer tough guys, that destroys it's own city. A complete disgrace to canada, I am ashamed to have them part of this country.

Missed the game, but was really only interested in it for Gaudreau. Any chance someone can put together a highlight pack of his play? Pretty please?

Who needs Brian McGrattan when you've got Super-Goon Paul Byron?
5'7" and 153 pounds of pure fury.

I had a good view of it and that was my first thought too. It looked like your typical Canuck embellishment. Then when they called for the stretcher I knew it was more serious. Still I don't think it was a dirty hit and even a Canucks fan in front of me was telling his buddies that it being five minutes was stretching it and that Sedin just hit the boards the wrong way.

What are you talking about? I was clarifying that there was no trash talking from the Flames players. In fact, both teams were very cool and calm considering. But when there's a hush over the arena, one person yelling at the ref kinda stands out.

I think because it was in the corner, it was worse. That is, if it was at the hashmarks, he likely simply falls on this right shoulder, but because the glass starts to curve where the hit occurred, he hit his head into the glass.
Still, in my opinion, it was a hit from the side, and only drew a penalty because of the result, as shown by the ref not making a call for about 3-5 second after the hit.

I think Gaudreau has a legit shot at making the team next year. He didn't seem fazed by the speed of the game and a bit of strength work over the summer may be all he needs. I also was pleasantly surprised by Bill Arnold. Despite the confusion of not knowing his linemates, he may some nice crisp passes and played a fairly physical game. As he's a right shot, I wonder if he could be a good playmaking right winger for the Flames. Am I the only one thinking this way?

I was thinking the same thing yesterday. However, considering my reputation around here, I might not be the person you want to have agreeing with you.
