That could be fun as Luongo is on the TSN panel for the first round!

Can't wait for this offseason's AC vids. Will probably need an "A 'Frickin' C" thread at some point in the summer

One of the worst efforts of the year - no surprise I guess. Most of the vets mailed it in. They really missed Brodie and struggled getting out of the zone. Oh well, move up the draft list as a result.

I thought Johnny Hockey not only fit in, but was their best forward. With his hockey sense and ability to steal pucks, I can't imagine that he isn't in the lineup opening day.

Have been saying it for 3 years - he is Datsyukian in his ability to separate people from the puck.

Perhaps torts could watch booth throw an elbow at Russell's head when Russell was just trying to get off the ice on one leg after he blocked the shot and was hurt. I had to rewind it a few times as I couldn't believe it.

The future is bright; the future is Flames.

Love how Monahan fishes the puck out for him.

Watching the Vancouver feed the highlights for me were:
1 - Johnny Hockey scoring his 1st and preventing a shutout to finish the season.
2 - Lance Bouma. When both teams agreed on a pond hockey 3rd following the Sedin accident, this guy times the perfect borderline dirty/embarrassing/statement check on Stanton into the bench AND doesn't cost the team another penalty kill. His breakaway chance late in the game showed he never throws the towel in. I think he'll be a coveted RFA this offseason, but hope Burke sees him as an anchor on the 3rd line for about the next 3 years.

Post game comments from Gaudreau.....

Quote:
“It was a fun game. I wish we’d come out with a win, but it was a great experience for me to get in my first game,” said Gaudreau afterward. “I thought it was a little bit faster than I expected. I thought I had a good practice (Saturday), but I was a little nervous today. I looked down the ice in warm-ups, looked down at the other end and there a lot bigger guys than I expected. That was a little shocking.

“I thought I had an all right game.

“I was just at the right place at the right time. A nice shot by Breener. I just happened to be standing at the right spot, so I had a nice little tap-in goal.”
Quote:
Gaudreau’s 6:18 of ice time was tops among Calgary forwards, and he drew Vancouver’s lone minor penalty.

“I think it’s good experience, and it’s going to help me towards next season,” said Gaudreau.
Hartley on Gaudreau.....

Quote:
Calgary boss Bob Hartley was happy with his newbies.

“I liked what they brought. Johnny got his first goal and Billy Arnold seemed very comfortable — I think playing centre in the last game of the season, your first NHL game after one 50-minute practice under your belt, I thought the two boys did a very good job.”
The hit and comments.....

Quote:
“I was just on the puck in the corner, just trying to finish my check. I saw the replay again. I didn’t think it was a dirty hit. That wasn’t my intention. I just hope he’s OK. The game’s so fast. We only have split seconds to make decisions. That wasn’t my intention at all.

“It’s really scary. You never want to see that.”
Quote:
Calgary captain Mark Giordano was seen chatting with Henrik Sedin as the third period opened.

“I just asked him how (Daniel) was doing and he said was doing better in the intermission. I didn’t realize he was hurt. I saw the hit, the scrum happened and about 10 seconds I looked in the corner and he was down. A scary sight, man. Paulie’s not that type of player. We all know that. He went in hard. They both went in hard. We just hope that guy’s OK, for a guy like him, he’s obviously one of the faces of the league and a big part of their team.”

She implied Sedin was faking, and that that was a regular occurrence.
