We thought we were but we weren't and that is why it turned out the way it did.

PS Babcock/Holland did not think Bouwmeester was worth Detroit's 20th pick overall. They thought that Quincey was worth their 2012 19th pick overall.
You think the Flames problems were solely Bouwmeesters? LOL

They sure look impressive without him.

Babcock/Holland also think that Bouwmeester is good enough for the current Olympic team so it appears that they do think highly enough of him where was Quincey's name on the Olympic camp roster?

They also had Gio for the last 4 disappointing seasons, and I didn't highlight Gio on my list.

And whether I would trade for Bouwmeester is irrelevant because that takes into consideration the age of the player, the contract, and the make up of the hockey team.

This is simply in regards to if I would take Bouwmeester over any of those players right now for Team Canada and the answer to that question is yes.

Bouwmeester at this point in time is better then Brodie and Wideman when you aren't considering age, what the Flames team needs are, and contract.

Especially on the big ice surface Bouwmeester's speed, and skating are a huge asset and his strong stick play is also beneficial.

I am not sure how you can include Jeff Petry on any list for team Canada and honestly try to back that up.

Because they knew the couldn't take on his 6.8 million dollar contract for this season.

The same people invited him to the Canadian Olympic Summer camp so they must have seen something they liked about him.

all jaybo does is stake very well, can play a ton of minutes, and usually makes good first passes out of the zone.....easy to see why he would not be a fir for T/Claying on large ice......

Re: Subban - worth noting that he played junior in Belleville which plays on Olympic sized ice. He's probably played more games on that ice than anyone being considered.

That's true but I have a hard time sitting Seabrook/Letang/Doughty for Hamhuis or Mark Staal. Having one D-Man on their offsides isn't really that bad. Thank goodness Bouwmeester plays great with Pietrangelo or we would really be hurting on the left
