Are you insane? This is the last player we need back on the Flames. The little ####### didn't want to play for us then and he won't want to play for us now. I get a smile on my face every time he gets sent down to the AHL. He can rot down there for all I care.

I think to be successful, you have to put some personal emotions off to the side and do what's best for the team. He'd be one of our best defensive prospects and we need some in the system. I'm not saying give up anything of value for him but if we can get him for next to nothing then it might be worth it

Why? So he can hold out again at the end of the season when his ELC expires? No thanks.

are you sure he'd do that? I'm not sure he wouldn't but you're not sure he would. He's an asset and would fill a hole we have in the organizatoin.

I'm not sure he would do that, but based on his history I think the chance of him doing that is too high to give up any assets for him.

Exactly... Plus, Russell is twice the player he is and plays a similar style. He just does everything better.

I hope he looks at Brodie and cries at night. Because I'm not saying he'd be a Brodie ... but Brodie is Brodie partly because of taking the opportunity that Erixon would have had.
Taste it moron

I love that this is the one topic on CP that there is a unanimous mindset about, screw this kid.

I find it amusing that none of the players in your signature are with their teams anymore.

Not to mention we might not have traded for Russell with Erixon needing a spot.
Very happy with came to be so far.

There would be too much bad press if we re-aquired him..
I would take him back because I bet he grew up a bit because of this situation and he has talent.
Everyone, including me, is mad at him but at least we got some quality assets out of it. He didnt pull a full Shultz and screw us out of getting anything..
If he never plays for the Flames of course I want him to fail miserably haha, but if we got him back I would have no problem cheering for him again.
Everyone makes mistakes in life and I think they should be forgiven, if they are remorseful.
In saying all this if Erixon hasn't grown and learned and become a better person because of all of this I wouldnt want him back.

Erixon, Heatley and Bourque. Quite the team you're assembling.

Have you read the recent posts? It's not unanimous, which I find shocking
If there's doubt as to how Tom would treat the Flames, I would err on the side of caution. Don't take the risk with a negative outcome.

I get the idea behind acquiring Erixon, but we can ABSOLUTELY get a similar player who isn't a total tool for the same price it would take to get Erixon.
Let him wallow in Columbus, we don't want him... well unless of course we trade for him and just stick him in the ECHL for the rest of his contract. You know, for comedy!

Still better than the Oilers.

Would he though? Wotherspoon, Seiloff, Ramage, Breen, are all guys that can seemingly fill the same space in due time. If he can't crack CBJs blueline, what makes you think he's a good option here? Especailly considering what we'd have to give up in a trade (likely one of the above plus.)

I agree, we all know what would happen. If he found his game, he would RFA offer sheet/UFA the heck out of here for nothing. It is obvious.
You stay the heck away from people like this, especially when you are trying to rebound fast. So far so good for the Flames, there is absolutely no reason to take a stupid risk on this clown.
It's like you having an below average looking girlfriend cheat on you, and you waking up years later and wanting to get back together because you imagine she'll be better. Some people just feel so guilty at winning they do self destructive things, blows my mind.
