I'm not so certain. Especially if he wins a cup. His Family is so established here that it wouldn't surprise me in the least to have him back next season. Not saying it will happen or that I expect it to, just wouldn't be shocked.

I actually am excited for an Iginla trade to any of those teams. Not because of what the Flames might get but because I am an Iginla fan and could really cheer for him to win with them. That would be a lot of fun. To cheer Iggy again in the playoffs and to cheer a winning team again.

You don't typically get 1st round picks back for guys not currently playing at a high level.

Yeah I hope Feaster uses his intellectual honesty in negotiations to show that Kipper isnīt actually as bad as the numbers show... not that I really believe people would think that anyway.

From what I've heard if Iginla comes back this summer, the league would be investigating. There is no rule that he can't come back but a prearranged understanding isn't legit.

Until we find another Darryl Sutter and stop signing 20 goal scorers.
This team is way too soft and non-competitive.

A normal NHL team would never do that, but the Flames might.

Its hard to believe i have the fear mongerer title associated with my name when you exist here.
This is just hilarious...all conjecture and speculation on your part, but passed off as fact of some sort.
Prove ANY of what you suggest...just one thing.
Pure and utter ridiculousness and im surprised you are still allowed to get away with it.

I hope he goes to Chicago, and we're all blessed with another Vancouver/Chicago playoff series.

I think most people agree Iginla's value is around a late 1st + good (not great) prospect + bottom 6/4 roster player. If that 1st is conditional I want to see a great prospect or a young roster player with some upside on the table.

Agreed, One can dream but, if we could trade him to a team like the Islanders considering their backups have not done too well.

As much as I understand and want iginla to win a cup and have serious chances for the next couple years, seeing rumours like this still makes my stomach sink.

My 6 year old wants it to be the Penguins, so I guess I do to, but the Kings would be okay too (as long as he resigns here after he wins his cup).
Really just want to see Iggy win a cup - he is one of the best guys in hockey.

It's actually pretty disgraceful that he can't end his career here, the mismanagement of this team since he's been here has led to this. Poor drafting, poor signings, short sighted moved. A owner who is heavily involved in hockey operations and a president as well. It sucks too see a guy like alfredson leave as a senator and we have to trade jarome.
Hockey operations in Calgary is in shambles and needs to be rectified. Ken king and his staff should pay for this debacle as well.

None of those teams "need" him. They are all doing fine without him.
I honestly don't see why people think Pittsburgh is the best for Iginla. True, Iginla and Crosby connected for an important goal a few years ago, but other than that, they didn't play too well together. Certainly not better than the wingers Crosby has now.
I don't actually care where he goes, but as far as what teams can offer us, I would take Chicago, LA, Boston and Pittsburgh in that order.

I only read the first 3 pages of this thread, but if this rumour is true, i am surprised that some of you are happy that Vancouver or NY Rangers are not on the list. For me i want as many teams on that list as possible. That does not mean they have to trade him to Vancouver but it could help with leverage against other teams. I wish the list was 10 -15 teams deep.
