He shouldnt have done it in at the dinner table, I dont care what kind of condition he has.
He should have had a little bit more respect for others and went to the bathroom.

If you notice something happening, there is nothing weird about not concentrating on it. You are unfortunate enough to see a diabetic needle, you look away.
You may be aware that a diabetic is taking an injection, but it takes some doing to see the actual needle.
I notice lots of things, some things are easy to stop noticing because it is easy to divert your attention elsewhere. If that is weird to you, then so be it.

Are you kidding me? My family are upset if I use my cell phone at the dinner table, if I were to inject myself they'd be apoplectic.

Sometimes things happen that suck and no one is responsible.
You'll be the one to pay because it's unreasonable to expect anyone else to, and it's just bad luck, just like not being able to look at a needle going into skin is bad luck.
My wife has a phobia with snakes. Guy walks into the restaurant with snake skin boots or a picture of a snake on his shirt or something like that after we order. My wife can't eat or we have to leave because if we don't she'll freak out.
Who's responsible? Same thing, no one, it's just bad luck.

Again, not all circumstances are the same. Why is that so hard for you to accept? In some situations t may be completely innocuous, in others it may be incredibly obtrusive.
