That would be the drugs. Enough to give her crazy eyes, not enough to kick in her singing ability.

I thought she started off a little shakey, but by the end, I thought they sounded great.

Well, personally I was in a crowd of 25,000 people seeing Metric last summer, so 40 times might be a bit of an exaggeration...

You'd never see the Superbowl go with an Indie band. In fact the last few years has seen oldies acts dominate the half time show. The median age of the NFL - which is slightly older than the NHL - probably has a lot to do with that. Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones, Prince, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and The Who, directly preceded the Black Eye Peas this year.
Ok, so the only acceptable option is to get well known classic rock bands? Hogwash. God forbid someone be exposed to something they've never heard of. Older demographics are fairly limited when it comes to music anyways (for the most part) so why bother catering to them. Im not saying you must love Metric but I really dont understand that people are so offended if they haven't heard of a performer. And then they bitch and complain if that well know performer doesn't play their one big hit song. This just doesn't compute with me. The superbowl is hardly a place for great musical performances anyways, so I wouldn't be taking their approach. Big name doesn't mean great event.

Believe it or not Metric have a pretty sizable following. Not a small band by any means.

Yeah, the people saying it's not their cup of tea, or they'd prefer to see a rock band for this event are one thing. But the guys saying they're a nothing band that no one's ever heard of are clueless.

Not an arena band, Haines has an already weak voice stiffled by the frigid cold. Bad choice CBC.

I'm not saying they're a bad band or making a "who's Metric?" joke here. I'm just saying that they were a very bad choice for the venue and conditions.

Metric was a poor choice. I'm not likely to check them out after that performance.
