Im pretty sure the owner of Dallas refuses to do any business with the Aqualini family. Bad bloo, I think they had a confrontation of sorts at a trade deadline recently.

That's not true, St. Louis may be, but there were plenty of out cries among fans when they traded Savard. Plenty of fans wanted Gilbert's head when he refused to play Savard and later the GM's when he traded Savard for a second and then fired the coach. WHAT AN IDIOT!!!

Bad blood yes, but not because of any trade deadline issue.
Gagliardi had a deal with Aqulini and another guy to buy the Canucks apparently, and then Aqulini went behind their back and bought it on his own.
There was a court case that I'm assuming Gagliardi lost, since he now owns Dallas.

Thats probably a great reason not to trade your best player to the guy. Unless its highway robbery and Benn has gone back to partying all summer.

Ruslan Zoolander was the return for Savard. Nobody had even heard of him. He was a complete nobody. A D level prospect.

Benn I believe has a full NMC so if he doesn't want to go it's moot.
But if Dallas, I might consider it. He had a down year but you could still get a haul for him. He turns 30 this summer and he's under contract until 2025. He only hit 53 points, was criticized by ownership, and then only scored twice in the playoffs (although he had 8 assists.).

I can see him possibly being traded. Most likely to the East though. You want to move him as far away as possible.

You guys think Winnipeg would be interested in a Roslovic and Brodie swap?
Roslovic has a ton more talent than what he has shown at the NHL level and could finally give us a solid 3c.
Winnipeg is losing some defenders and could use a player like Brodie.
Winnipeg would have to add a bit though, likely a pick.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Chucky and Roslovic are bff too.
I don't think Winnipeg would be interested in that though.

Roslovic is cheaper and is going to be an excellent top 6 player, sooner that later.
He is likely not available for an older player 1 year from UFA.
Winnipeg might trade him for a similarly aged D-man though.

We should look at bringing in Halak. Can probably outbid Boston since Rask playing so well

Hes not a UFA until 20/21. Signed with Boston for next year too. Wed have to trade for him and I really have no clue what that would cost.

Keep going back to Toronto needing cost controlled contracts and will likely lose gardiner.
Kadri and kapanen for brodie, jankowski and kylington.
Still not sure how sold i am on kapanen as he started off hot and offense dried up last half of season.

Kadri and Kapanen are cost controlled contracts. And better players than what you are giving up.

That's still considered cost controlled isn't it? I thought cost controlled just meant that you owned the asset aka not UFA.

Not sure I agree with that definition of cost controlled.
Is Marner cost controlled at the moment?
