And from Sharangovich's (and more importantly, his agent's) perspective, if he has played well, he will want to be paid market. There is no way the agent would say "sure, we'll sign for $4M", if he is worth $6M.

There is a reason that these agreements never exist - they are completely untenable.

I would guess it's an intent without dollars agreed to if true at all.

Absolutely not.

This reminds me so, so much of discussions about Andrew Mangiapane a couple years ago, where a lot of people argued Mangiapane ought to be locked in to a long-term >$5M AAV contract. And here we are one-and-a-half years into a 3x$5.8M contract and I don't think anybody would argue it's a good contract...

I was looking at Flames for the 1st time all season and it's interesting that Sharangovich has more goals this year than he did in 75 games last year with the Devils.

and he should blow by his career high of 24.

Also the Flames have 11 players with 20+ points after last night.

Sharangovich is twice the player Mangiapane is.

The man has fixed Huberdeau FFS.

Man who is this guy! What a shot! This is what I live for. Mid season storylines of guys figuring out their game and lighting the league up.

That first goal was incredible.

Huberdeau seems to have found his line-mate too, which really charges me up.
