Being from Edmonton, it's going to have too much salt in it.
My guess is swinging single 1983 Wayne, his heart not really into a cookbook entry, told the author “hey, put in some veggies I guess, including a can of the yellow stuff”. Wayne meant corn, author thought pineapple, (which ironically did not become readily available in Edmonton-bloc until 1992) and which is why all those other ghastly veggies made it into chilli.

If this were the case, they missed the beets and turnips that the hardy edmontonians were no doubt consuming in droves as well. It's probably meant to be a borscht recipe.
My thoughts exactly. Pineapple is very weird for a chili, but I can see why and might even be interested to try it.
No chili powder? Not even some black pepper?
Broccoli?!?! It would become mush and you'd have little granular brocoli bites throughout... Cauliflower is not amazing in the best of circumstance but would probably just be an unwelcome soggy element.
This is bean stew not chili. Gross bean stew if i may add.
Mixing beans and overcooked broccoli violates many industrial emissions bylaws.

The culinary scene in Edmonton was pretty rudimentary, even for that era. A couple of Smitty's franchises and Hunky Bills Pyrogy House were pretty much it.

Red Robin was considered haut cuisine until just last year.

They used all their turnips to make turnip juice. They truly are Shelbyville.

Sounds like Adam Cracknell has had some discussions with the Oilers and a contract is likely to happen in the near future. Experienced depth player who can help in the minors, and as a call up.
It's their door-to-door season ticket campaign. That was a ticket delivery to another lucky Tier One (or lower) fan. Uniquely on-brand packaging. (And they skipped having a player hand-deliver because nobody would answer the door.)
#leafs are discussing a trade with Carolina that involves Pesce, but there are many moving parts. Calgary is willing to move Andersson and Bennett for #Andersen, Engvall, Pittsburgh’s first round pick this year, Bracco. #Flames #canes
