CP is awesome and free. It's not like Bingo is a mega tech Corp, it's extremely reasonable for him to get some ad revenue back to defray the costs of running this place.

I think you are missing the point here. This isn’t a Does Trudeau suck to question. Everyone knows Trudeau sucks.

I don’t think anyone really wants to excuse the stupidity of Trudeau here. Many would like PP to stop being an idiot and provide a reasonable right of Center option so we can get rid of Trudeau either by the liberals themselves or by a conservative government.

PPs continual stupidity of actively trying to lose votes in the GTA is maddening. He and the party are squandering their opportunity and Canada regardless of your political stance is worse off for it.

I can't help but roll my eyes at things like this T-shirt-gate thing... no, it's not intentional. Yes, lots of people ask for pictures with people like PP and get them without him vetting them or reading the person's shirt. It's not only plausible that that's what happened, it's obvious.

Asking "well why doesn't this happen to Notley"... you know exactly why. No one who would wear a shirt like that likes Notley or would want a picture with her. Many of them do like PP, because they hate Trudeau. This is not a new or surprising revelation.

My thinking if it was that easy to have your picture taken with a leader while wearing an offensive shirt, someone would have tried by now to make Notley look bad by doing so.

It's obviously possible to quickly vet people like green shirt dude, and the conservatives should smarten up if they want to get the average voter on their side.

I mean, leaving aside the fact that the nutjobs who would try to pull something like that are generally not that clever and the reality is that people don't typically try to go "undercover" at political events unless they're working on a Sacha Baron Cohen movie, and leaving aside that it seems to be exclusively right-wing nutjobs who advertise their extremism using bumper stickers and shirts... what would the inverse version of that shirt that you could wear to embarrass Notley even be? "Just Stop Oil"? I don't think that would provoke quite the same response.

I think that is a really good example and creates a very similar reaction. "See, she hates us!" is an entirely plausible reaction from the right.

I would expect Notley handlers to absolutely shut that down. Strange Smith handlers didn't think likewise.
