People that need to turn wrenches, or marret wires, require a bit more dexterity than operating a shovel. There's a reason this weather causes this thread to get bumped, but it's nice to know that Cletus from road kill patrol is still happily on the job. Thanks man.

You asked a question about how much EMS, Fire or Police are outside of their vehicles, I answered. Why are you always so angry?

Have a little empathy. Frostbite has taken 9/10 of his fingers today. That response took him 7 hours to write with just his pinky. It’s a miracle he survived at all.

I didn't ask a question, I pointed out that some jobs are in and out. And not all jobs take place inside of a building, where you just hit the remote car start and go home afterward. Hence, it's not ridiculous to disagree with this weather.
Why am I so angry all the time? Trying to explain why someone would not like this weather, and getting faux hero responses like yours about having been outside for two hours is stupid. Do you actually like being out in this weather for this long? Would you want your parents or children outside in this weather for that long? Maybe skiing or snowboarding, but working or waiting?
The hero complex is weak, man. Liking it colder than hotter is fine, but acting like it's ridiculous to full on hate minus 30 is about the dumbest thing I've read all day.

I love that they're doing all that just to clear an extra foot wide spot of the shoulder, actual road conditions look the same before and after

And I literally have one of the jobs you talked about and corrected your silly assessment

Yeah, I don't mind it at all personally. My parents or children can make that decision on their own

Hero complex? This is just people talking, busting balls, and having fun, you know, a message board. Which just makes it all the more interesting that you're always so upset. Do you think myself or Silver are upset at undercoverbrother because he likes it hot and we like it cold? Of course not, I love ucb, we're just shooting the #### here. Settle down

Fun fact. Calgary, Honolulu and Tampa Bay have never hit 100 F (37.7C). Not many places get to 40C

It isn't - 30 cold in Vancouver, but the snowfall here has really caused a ton of chaos. They literally had to close YVR down and cancel all flights because of it and now people are calling for the CEO to resign...

The CEO of what? YVR?
What do they want him to do? Get out there with a shovel?

Seattle should have pretty similar weather as Vancouver. Is SeaTac also as messed up right now as YVR?

August has a keypad. I've heard some people have it in their homes and just make sure to open the door before it auto locks. I just use my phone/geo fencing.

Traffic tends to suck when it's -30... everything took me almost twice as long today as it would normally. For the purpose of daily errands I think I'd personally prefer +30

Yes. Seattle is also extremely delay prone even on a normal cloudy day, as they have more scheduled flights than the airport can handle in anything but good weather.

Speaking of power bills we should be a little mindful about power usage during peak hours as we just broke the record for all-time energy use. This is something you don't see at +30C but I'm pretty positive that won't stop Pepsi from his contrarian rants.
