That's the kind of call that the NHL could lose fans over. Why call that now? There's still potentially two games left. If anything, allowing it extends the Battle of Alberta and makes everyone money in the process, and likely doesn't factor into the series that much anyways.

Just focus on OT. That’s what’s important

I don’t believe in conspiracy theories.

But with all the sports gambling now??

I really wonder - the fact they are arguing means it shouldn’t have been overturned. Period.

Could also light a fire under the league and get them to clean up officiating, but we all know it won't.

realize Coleman's tip-in skate turn Backlund clear goal to no goal.

Coleman was being shoved into the net at high speed. He literally had no choice but to stick his skate out to try and slow down, or else risk being injured in a nasty crash into the net. BS call is BS. F off NHL

It seems like this will either end on a goalie gaffe or a bad penalty call resulting in a power play goal.

You think that but how do you prove a feeling? Its not good enough evidence when he is stopping on one foot while being checked/ What a joke of an argument.

I do believe that Coleman intended to use his skate to guide the puck in.

However, just like what others have said, he ANGLED his skate to deflect the puck as opposed to kicking. There is no distinct kicking / swinging motion of the leg.

Has anyone wondered the following?

If you only have 1 skate on the ice, moving at high speed, how can you kick with that same foot?

So first of all...

How the #### was that reviewable by the referees / NHL in the first place without an actual coach's challenge?

I thought the rule is 5 minutes left in the game to be reviewable by the league?

They badly want to see McDavid go the next round, and will use whatever methods they can get away with, even going as far as making clear egregious calls like this one.

This isn't a blown call. They deliberately and intentionally tried to find a reason to rule no goal solely subjective, the WWE has more integrity then the NHL.

There needs to be an inquiry. Even Tim Donaghy has more integrity.

SiriusXM just cut off the broadcast after the third period. Guess they thought this was over, too.
