Here is something I would implement right away:

Ticket pricing: The league needs to get fans back in the stands again at all costs. I would drastically reduce ticket prices and create a consistent league wide ticketing price point. General seating prices should be $200, $150, $100, $50, and $20 based on stadium location. Teams can designate which sections and how many seats fall under each category but we need to lower prices, especially for the worst seats in the building. Nosebleeds, endzones, and corner seats should not exceed $20.

It would be better for the league long term to reduce ticket prices and sell out stadiums rather than keep prices high but only have half full stadiums. Full stadiums create atmosphere, which creates excitement, which creates demand. When stadiums sell out they can raise prices, but for now they need to follow the German soccer leagues tactics and reduce prices in order to sell out stadiums.

Teams need to focus on attracting families and younger kids. They are the future season ticket holders so they need to get them hooked when they are young. More family and kid promotions is a must. They should also focus in on high school and university students. They need to make going to the stadium an event and worth everyone's time.

Agreed on the pricing. The cost is way too high for the product being offered, especially when every game is on TV.

For me it starts with the schedule. Not talking whether the season starts in May or July, as I think there's pros and cons to both that cancel each other out. Every week should have a predictable schedule so people know when to tune into games. Like how the NFL has Thursday Night Football, early and mid-afternoon Sunday, SNF, and then MNF.

For example, have a Friday Night game, one afternoon Saturday game, then a Saturday night double header. Special exceptions for Labour Day weekend to keep up the tradition. People will know when to tune in, and you have a variety of start times for people to choose from and can capture various demographics.

I used to go to basically every single Stamps game. With a young family, I:
a) Can't justify the cost they're charging when my kids will be bored and want to leave in the middle of the 2nd quarter
b) Think the timing of games usually suck as my kids would likely be falling asleep before a game ends or already asleep when the game starts.

I'm not saying the schedule should cater to me, but if they want to get more families and young fans to grow up with the game, they probably need to find ways to get those people into the stands.

The other thing is to market the players more - harder to do these days, but this was a problem pre-covid. We used to be able to go and meet players, get autographs, see them in advertisements all over the place, etc which helped with the connection to the team. Maybe there needs to be some cap relief to teams that keep players longer than 2 years to encourage that sort of connection.

Garbage.
Wow, I followed this team through ups and downs this season. If they make it to Winnipeg just to basically forfeit because they're missing key players.... I'm not even sure what that will feel like. Probably that I was tricked or lied to or something. They'll need all hands on deck to beat the Bombers.

Oh well, one game at a time I suppose.

Any player unable to play due to vaccination status should not be invited to return again. Even if it is Bo.

I just took a peek at the weather forecast for Regina on Sunday. Things could certainly change between now and then, but for right now, they're predicting a high of 5 degrees and a 20% chance of precipitation. That's pretty darn good for late November.

95% of Players will be fully vaccinated by Dec1!

Hopefully Huff read the pro-diseasers on our team the riot act and got them in line.

I think one of the Stamps rumored to be unvaccinated was Jamar Wall who was the recipient of the Presidents' Ring award.

Defensive back Jamar Wall is the 2021 recipient of the Calgary Stampeders’ Presidents’ Ring award.

The Presidents’ Ring has been presented annually since 1967 to the Stampeders player who best demonstrates excellence on and off the field as voted by the players. Candidates are judged on their in-game contributions, leadership, inspiration and motivational skills.

“It is such an honour to be receiving this award,” said Wall. “Thank you so much to the teammates who voted for me – I value every one of you. I’ve seen many great guys receive this ring, which says and means a lot. This year has been full of different challenges and obstacles for all of us, and it truly means a lot that my leadership has been recognized by so many in the locker room.”

Yep. He's anti-vax unfortunately. It's going to suck if they win this weekend and he can't play against the Bombers.

Legendary Bob Irving retiring after this season. The best play by play man in the CFL. A huge loss for the Bombers and the league, big time shoes to fill.
