Thought it was Treliving and one owner, not Burke.

I hear you. Again, I'm as sceptical about it as the rest of yous...just figured I'd post what I heard on here. I don't usually post any rumours or anything.

Yea his wife said it was guy with slicked back white/gray hair, (she's not familiar with the owners, etc...) I assumed it was Burke but heck could have been one of the owners. Who was travelling with Treliving?

McKenzie: Gaudreau & Flames are closing gap, but it's still a considerable gap.
News UpdateKristen Odland:
"I have every confidence that we are going to get a contract that works for Johnny, that works for us."
Treliving: "Our hope, and what we’re striving for, is get that done so that not only Johnny will be back here w/us, but w/us on Wednesday.”

Yeah, I don't buy it. We're supposed to believe Gaudreau's camp has moved from $8M+ all the way down to $7.14M (at least 750k) and that the Flames haven't moved up from their initial ask of $6.4M?
If they equally moved up buy 750k, they'd all meet at $7.15M. That's a reasonable contract for both sides.
Furthermore, Treliving isn't going to talk to the media at all, but Burke is going to blab to some random?
I'm just suspicious about the whole thing.

Wow - love this juicy news. I'd tell Johnny he can have that AAV and even a little more. Just sign up for 8 years.
Whether legit or not, thanks for sharing.

Haven't we been saying that all summer? If it was that easy it would have been signed ages ago. It's the classic case of the old 'who blinks first game'. Whenever someone blinks is when things will start moving. Whether that is Wednesday, in a month, or 3 months. For now we should do what any team would do, and just prepare as if he's not going be there come the beginning of the season.

Then add in comments from TSN (Button and Ferraro) that makes it sound like a trade request might be not too far away.
Do we know if Burke was on the trip with Treliving? I really hope not. He's a loose cannon and could completely destroy the relationship with the Gaudreau family.
I hope I'm wrong. But I'm just not feeling there is more uncertainty than ever about Johnny's future in Calgary.

Gross (Johnny's agent) stalls again, trying to press the time button as much as physically possible, and - on the same day - Gaudreauvertime shows up with yet another attempt to jack up the oh-no-Johnny-is-gonna-be-upset-and-like-totally-leave-dude angst to yet a higher level.
Coincidence?

I don't think Treliving flew commercial. I dont think commercial flights from NYC generally go thru Minnie (that one I'm iffy on though). I don't think Burke went and the only owner I could see going would be Edwards, who doesn't match the description. I don't see them flying anything but first class which puts them in seats by themselves. I don't see them casually talking to a random person.
Not trying to slam the poster, it just seems doubtful to me.

To those that need it spelled out...
1) Burke wasn't there
2) If Burke met Treliving along the way, it sure as #### wouldn't be in Minny on a commercial flight.
3) Let's assume they actually were on a plane together... even if they were, they wouldn't be talking about negotiations in public
4) even if they were talking about the negotiations in public, why would Burke be telling Treliving what Gross was demanding? (Treliving was in the negotiations, not Burke)
think, people

FWIW -- I just looked on Expedia, and the majority of all connecting flights from NYC to Calgary stop in Minneapolis.

I wonder if this situation and previous ones involving Gross will make GMs around the league avoid players whom he represents. I could see a GM asking himself, "do I really want to deal with this pita?"
