You're not alone.

Ever since my girls Clijsters and Davenport retired, I've had a real hard time getting into women's tennis. I cheer for our Canadians, but otherwise... I'm very "meh" about it the majority of the time. There's only so much "Williams this and Williams that" one person can take.

That was such a lull in women's tennis. Serena wasn't playing, Sharapova was hurt and Azarenka wasn't good yet. If Clisjters hadn't come back it would have been unwatchable. You all watched Schiavone yesterday, she won a slam!!!!!

There are no lulls in men's tennis.

one could argue that 2001-2002 was the closest to a lull that ATP has experienced in recent times. look at the major winners those years aside from Agassi and Sampras...Guga, Ivanisovic, Hewitt, Johansson, Costa...not exactly a pantheon of legends. I'd go so far as to say those years helped make Agassi's post-drug era comeback look that much better, and allowed a geriatric Sampras to cap his career with that last fairytale USO win.

Roger is still miles better than old Pete was in 2002, but he's not gonna get that nice setup for a last major trophy because this giant 3 headed hydra/cerberus in its prime is blocking the way.

Good start for Raonic 6-3 7-6(6) 6-3. I only saw bits and pieces of his match, but he had full control. He moved Fabbino around the court nicely. It was also good to see some killer instinct in the third set.

[14] Jerzy Janowicz has crashed out in straight sets.

Pospisil has resumed down 5-2 now in the 4th.

Edit: now beginning 5th set

YOU NEVER KNOW!

What if Nadal gets hurt or something!

There's also a matter of 35 points.

After about 4 or 5 dueces, Pospisil holds, up 4-3 now.

6-6 in the tiebreak, Vasek just saved a match point

going to be crazy now, every odd-numbered score will be a match point for somebody.

Vasek up 7-6*.. match point #5.

With two bad gag jobs with multiple match points of late, I think Pospisil needs a sports psychologist

That's too bad. Bouchard, Raonic and Frank all moving on the 2nd round is awesome though.

Making matters worse, that was Silva's first win of the entire year on the ATP. No other way to describe that other than a choke.

Vasek pulled a Milos! Not the kind of confidence you want heading into Davis Cup. Hopefully he can make a good run with Nester in doubles to get some swag back
