Trump has elite survival skills akin to a rat or cockroach along with being born rich and raised with no scruples. With a combination like that it's not surprising to see a person "succeed" in a culture that defines success largely by level of attention and money. By no measure of intelligence would he be considered smart. If you think he's smart that probably says more about you than him. Was George W. Bush also smart? He was President for 2 straight terms.
