Thinking about it, if i had unlimited bandwidth on an iPad, I would just host my media files at home on my server and just access them remotely.
Very interesting.

If I'm not mistaken, the fine print on that "unlimited" AT&T data plan states that they cap you at 4GB. Whether they cut you off or throttle you, I can't remember, but I know it's not actually unlimited.
I have 6GB of data for $30 from Rogers. Last time I checked, when taking each company's fine print into consideration, it was the best data plan on the planet.

You are mistaken. Everything I've heard about the iPad, including from very reputable sources, is that its truly unlimited. No small print on the ATT or Apple pages about the plan. My Verizon unlimited data plan for my phone is also truly unlimited, so its not unprecedented. There's a lot of disinformation floating around the internet about both of these.
As much as I dislike both Apple and AT&T, the no contract $30 a month, truly unlimited data plan is a hell of a deal. Its just a shame that for most people it will be their 3rd form of paying for internet access every month.

Oh I have no idea about the iPad plans. I'm speaking about iPhone plans, since that's the only thing I've ever looked into. I'm also talking about "the last time I looked" which was almost 3 years ago.

On my Droid I've burned through 1.162 gigs in the last 7 days, simply by watching several hours of video and a decently heavy amount of regular web browsing. I'm over 3 gigs for April. And that's with a 3.7" screen. I've got to think the inclination to watch video on an iPad is going to be greater.

I had to change your post a bit there. I watch video on my iphone for about 2 hours a day, but I don't stream a bit of it. I just load everything on the device itself. I prefer to not need a connection to watch my videos, because sometimes there just isn't one (i end up in tunnels quite a bit).

It’s a hell of a deal, but there were concessions - no tethering is the big one, of course.

Unfortunately, I don't see anything in the draconian backwater Canadian monopolized market offering such as thing as unlimited data plan for 3G on any device. I look forward to the day we severe data contracts from the device contracts we get from mobile companies. Hell, all our phones are still locked to one provider and it took forever for us to be able to keep our own numbers.

Will iPad support Wind Mobile frequency for data? (or does WIND not even use SIM?)

Frayed knot.
The frequency that Wind uses is not compatible with the iPhone or iPad. Nor with many other cell phones, which is why they have a much smaller selection of phones compared to other carriers. But they bought whatever frequency the could since the commonly used frequency is owned by the oligopoly.

Data services over 3G cellular tend to draw more power than on Wi-Fi alone. Apple's official specs show a 10% hit when using 3G vs. Wi-fi. Apple claims 10 hours of continous web usage on Wi-Fi, and 9 hours of usage on 3G with a single charge. iLounge's early tests show that these numbers seem reasonably accurate:
Our prior iPad with Wi-Fi battery tests found that Apple was generally at least a little conservative in its estimates; for instance, we put the Wi-Fi model through a web torture test with repeated 1-minute refreshes of a large, completely loaded page for 10 hours and 21 minutes on 50% brightness over 802.11n. Repeating the exact same test on the Wi-Fi + 3G model with 3G turned on and Wi-Fi turned off, the iPad achieved 8 hours and 38 minutes of continuous reloading and displaying -- 22 minutes shy of Apple’s estimate.

Took a day trip today to the States and played with it for awhile. Nice weight and very responsive to finger gestures. Nice to have, but still can't really justify the price for the thing right now. If it were $100 cheaper maybe, but I still don't think it's priced where it should be for mass appeal...early adoptor material for sure.

Still can't justify one either, but when the Apple Stores here get them, I'll definitely go over and play with one.
Friend of mine in the States got one at launch. He loves it so much that he's hardly used his MacBook at all since.

Anyone played Zombieville HD or Plants vs Zombies HD? Thinking about grabbing them. Any other game recommendations that will be good to show off the iPad ?

I played a bit of Flight Control at the Apple store in NYC last week, and it was decently changed by all the extra screen space. Of course, I've never played Flight Control for iPhone, so I'm not the best judge.

Awesomeness!!! I have the iPad working off the iPhone now.
And that jailbreak was far less painful than my previous experiences jailbreaking. Of course the Spirit jailbreak just allows non-Apple apps (like MyWi!! W00t!!) on the iPhone and does NOT unlock (ie use an AT&T iPhone on Rogers).

Apple sells 1 million iPads in the first month.
Apple sold its millionth iPad. 1.5 million ebooks have already been downloaded to the device, along with 12 million apps. Steve Jobs has also taken time from his busy essay-writing schedule to remind us that that's less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve the milestone with the original iPhone, and demand for the "magical" slate continues to outstrip supply.

Wow ... one million in 28 days and it's only available in one country. My guestimate (as per usual) was way off. I suppose we'll get a better idea after 1 year, but I was sure it would sell slowly at first then pick up. It seems like the type of device you buy only after you sit down and play with it or see it in the wild a few times ... I didn't peg it as much of an impulse buy. Perhaps people like me with a strange gadget dependence are more numerous than I figured.
Hopefully this will entice more developers to create ipad apps.

Although I must admit I do not yet have an iPad to put in it. But the shipping time is 2-3 weeks, which will work out well.

FYI: My Executive Jacket arrived today, and the quality is very good - it exceeded my expectations for the price. Stitching is good, leather is nice, its sufficiently thin, and has just the right feel in terms of the stiffness of the covers.
If you are considering a case from these guys, now that I've got one in my hands, I can say that I would definitely order from them again.
Too bad I don't have an iPad to put in it yet 7 more days till pre-order.
I will be a sad monkey if the 3g iPads in Canada will not be available by month end.
