When iPhone OS 4.0 comes out for the iPad (in the fall apparently), will you be able to install that new OS onto existing Ipads?

Tried in vain to win one from BT this morning. Alas.

Oh. My. God.
Look at those premium features. I've been waiting for something like this for 2 f****** years.

Not quite the be all end all, but it definitely looks like they are going to use the tail end of the playoffs to get things ready for an app similar to the MLB At Bat app.

Oh, as of right now the Premium features are free. I think that's the "Preview" for next-season.
Quality is pretty good too.
Err: I don't know if all the premium features are there, but the condensed games/video higlights/player profiles/video archive highlights are there.

I have a sudden sinking feeling that next season I'll be dependent enough on the iPad that I may have to take it to the dome just for the post-period highlights. I'd be shocked if there weren't an iPhone companion app to go along with it.

ALL ABOARD!

The NHL app is pretty cool. It's quick to view all the highlights and the video quality is decent. It doesn't have the same polish as the NHL.com site.
The design is a little weird. I seriously thought I downloaded an enlarged iPhone app. The font sizes are HUGE. I guess they have lots of room to add features.
It would have been nice to see the each team get their pages more personalized.
Edit: I should have finished my post before posting.

Sort of sounds like a "ok this app isn't really ready, but let's spend the last few weeks kicking the tires and testing some of the features" kind of thing. I'm just excited to have video.

The NHL app is terrible compared to the ESPN XL app. I guess it's free but I was disappointed, ended up taking it off.

If you think a Canadian provider will offer that price for unlimited data, you are officially crazy.

AT&T offers unlimited data on a crap network for $30/month. Rogers gives 1 gig (6 gigs for some) and free tethering on a much better network for the same price. I would hardly say anybody is "officially crazy" for thinking the offer could be very similar.

A 500 meg data-only plan from Telus is $30 per month, and you can double that to 1 gig for $10 more. I expect the iPad pricing will be about the same, and that is fine, in my opinion.
The way the plans work for iPads in the US, when you reach your 250 meg cap on the $15 plan, you can buy another 30 days/250 megs immediately, or wait for the month to roll over. So you can, in effect, buy 500 megs for $30, or simply pay the $30 for the unlimited plan up front (and risk leaving money on the table if you use less).
So realistically, unless you are going to consistently exceed 500 megs per month, and I think that’s a rare case indeed, the pricing looks quite similar to me, Canada vs. U.S.
iPhone users chime in - how many of you are exceeding 500 megs per month right now on your iPhone?

I would assume that the iPad will use far more data since it gives you the full web page. So if I go to Cbc.ca on the iPhone I get the compressed mobile version. Same with TSN. But on the iPad you get the full meal deal.
In any case, there is no way in H-E-double-hockey-stick that I was going to contemplate paying Rogers for internet at home, internet on the iPhone AND internet on the iPad, which is why I plan on going the MyWi route.
And if Rogers re-offers their 6GB plan SHARED over devices, I'll eat my hat.

If you watch anything in the way of video on the iPad, (which to me is the best selling point) over 3G, you will blow through a gig in a month like nothing.
On my Droid I've burned through 1.162 gigs in the last 7 days, simply by watching several hours of video and a decently heavy amount of regular web browsing. I'm over 3 gigs for April. And that's with a 3.7" screen. I've got to think the inclination to watch video on an iPad is going to be greater.

Yeah, video is obviously going to be a high-use situation.
