When I drove a taxicab I ate KFC lunch everyday and used the greasy napkin to polish the dash. That wad in the ‘70s, the menu hasn’t changed except for the dollar amounts.

It's chicken gravy. I make chicken gravy that tastes exactly the same. I then hook it up to my wife's veins.

In a world where Korean fried chicken exists, I don’t know why anyone eats KFC anymore.

Was odd there were no Canadian networks with coverage and all the US ones were Spokane so an hour behind. The only countdown we found was from a show in Vegas that was televised on an obscure channel.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. Keep your hands to yourselves. This is a well understood rule for adults. However, a shockingly large portion of adults do not keep their hands to themselves when it comes to acquaintances children. It shouldn’t even need to be said, because simply saying it sounds like it’s a crime. Don’t touch my kid, you ####ing weirdos. Don’t touch anyone’s kid. They don’t like it. You don’t remember adults like this when you were a kid? Stop it, you ####ing weirdos. Tell your friends.

Ugh...who wants to touch kids? They're sticky and disgusting and just petri-dishes for whatever pandemic is coming next.
You just know that the COVID pandemic was caused by some dumb kid who couldnt be patient to cook their pangolin long enough.

You’d have to have eaten at pretty subpar Korean restaurants to form that opinion.

Nope. I have eaten good Korean food and enjoyed it. I have Korean food stuff in my home like kimchi, gochujang and Momofuku’s sweet chili noodles. But the market is getting over saturated with it. Every day a new Korean fried chicken or hot dog place opens up. I’m over it.

totally agree, and extends to adults too. There are more and more touch-sensitive people out there now - best to ask first before giving a hug, that shoulder squeeze/touch, etc... and that's already if you know them and it's a friendly environment.
Never mind if they're a walking germ-bag of mucous (regardless of masked or not)... then it's a definite keep away and sit downwind.

No doubt Korean Fried Chicken and "Hot Dogs" are getting oversaturated.
However calling Momofuku's sweet chili noodles as Korean is a stretch... Yeah I know there is gochujang in there. Momofuku is a Japanese word FYI. I know the founder of Momofuku is Korean but he is one of the best at Japanese fusion from my limited knowledge. Could definitely be wrong though.
Kimchi and Gochujang are "overplayed" maybe because they are easily some of the most recognized Korean staples.
Don't know your specific background but there is much more to Korean cuisine.

The exception is Vietnamese. It somehow stays simple and underrated and not franchised really. They aren't trying to invent the vietnamese hot dog or pizza.

So my take away from this conversation is that we need to get children working at a Korean Fried Chicken place and then prepare for COVID 2024.
I'll take 8 pieces please. I mean...if the ship is going down anyways, I'm going down with some Korean Fried Chicken.

It’s not so much that Korean cuisine can’t be incredible (because it can be and so often is), but right now it’s hit a point where people talk about it in a way that’s similar to someone saying “Italian cuisine is incredible” when they only ever talk about Dominos and Olive Garden.
|
Can the worst versions of Korean cuisine even be considered overrated? Korean fried chicken and Korean hot dogs? I dunno. Even at their so-called worst they’re good.
