Even if they hit on the picks there's little chance of any of the players amounting to anything close to Draisaitl or McDavid.

Yeah, I think at some point ego sets in and Draisaitl becomes resentful being the second banana.

I don't think so, I think he's happy to play second fiddle. He hasn't strike me as an egomaniac that has to have the room, he's just a jerk.

I don't think he's a complete narcissist. But if Zach Hyman and the Tenderness have higher point totals by game 60, and he's still playing with Foegele and McLoud and on pace for like 85 points, he's going to be pretty sour. But him Kane, and Perry will be a thing soon enough.

It always seems like Butt-Head is happy to let Beavis garner all the attention for his overt idiocy.

Didn't know where to put this but John Short passed away today.
to be fair, I thought he was one of the few decent Edmonton media personalities, he called a spade a spade and wasn't part of the "Oilers radio network".
back in the early 90's I happened to live near Edmonton for a couple of years, listened to his show almost every night on 1260. I thought he presented a balanced non Oilercentric sports program (Unlike Stauffer and Hall)
I would wager that Rob Kerr "lifted" a lot of John Shorts style too.
E=NG
but John Short was pretty decent

Oilers with another win against a bottom feeder. And who do they play next? That's right, another bottom feeder. Such a tough schedule for the league's darling Cup favourites.

How was McDavid's tying goal not offside?

Yeah on highlights that looked really close. Did they review it? Anybody know?
And of course the greasers have another non-playoff team next. Should be another win, unfortunately. Prove me wrong habs!

Robin Brownlee also died on Thursday of a massive heart attack. He was a Oilers writer as well. He was 65. I've lived in California for 15 years now but I lived in Alberta for 20 + years and Brownlee was someone who was a good writer (as was Short). RIP to both.

They couldn't possibly have been worse than the current generation of Oilers media.

It doesn't get more amateur or borderline unprofessional than when these guys take to twitter/x.

The sharp regression in media talent is sad to see, indeed. Particularly when we down the highway have to suffer these dopes every so often on our airwaves.

Anna Kane was removed from the Oilers game per Evander Kane’s request. Has a restraining order too.

I can certainly see why the two were initially attracted to each other.

Growing up in Lacombe in the 80's, I couldn't even guess how many hours I spent listening to John Short on my radio at night when I should have been sleeping. Another sporting voice from my youth gone silent. Big loss for the Edmonton sports community.

Maybe it's because I've lived North of Red Deer for almost 20 years now (yeesh) but I don't actually mind Jason Gregor. Prefer him on the DFO Rundown as opposed to his daily gig covering the Oilers obviously.
