I agree with most of that. He was wildly inconsistent all game. Podolski had a very late tackle go uncared, then still didn't get a card when he committed the foul for the penalty. Gerard probably should have seen red. Fabianski two-handed punched Agger in the head in the box and got nothing. It was just a poor game with missed calls going both ways.
I'm not sure which dives you meant though, the only real flopping issue was with Suarez, but he clearly got fouled before he was flopping around.

Barca got their typical "soft" penalty and red card.
Does he even make contact with Messi? And if he did contact was initiated just outside the box.

To me that looked like a penalty, but whether or not it was in the box is questionable.

Oh, I agree, I want my 2 hours back. I've had naps with more riveting excitement than that match.
That said, City may have deserved a draw at best.

I think I said that pre Aguero injury
but either way, Barcelona are the pre-lockout devils of football, just bore teams to death and that pen was scandalous

Oh, me too. Its unbelievable that two huge teams in Europe could play such a boring game.

Wayne Rooney has committed his future to Manchester United by signing a four-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until June 2019. Wayne will also become a club ambassador when he retires from the game.
The 28 year-old striker, signed from Everton in August 2004, has played 430 games for United, scoring 208 goals, a record which already puts him fourth in the club's all-time goalscorer list behind Jack Rowley (211), Denis Law (237) and Bobby Charlton (249).

It looks like a local lad is on trial with the Arsenal.

He already has an offer from a German club on the table, but it’s the German who sat beside him at the lunch on Wednesday that really left Caniggia ‘Ginola’ Elva in a state of awe.
“Mesut Ozil sat beside him at lunch — Caniggia told me he could barely eat his food,” said Ramon Mifflin, director of operations for Calgary’s South West United Soccer Club.
“He was completely star struck.”

I think if Wenger flaps his arms a little faster in that big ass coat he might get some lift...

Hate to be the party pooper, but why would he want to?
Has he played for us Nationally yet?
If he makes it with a big club and doesn't commit to playing any National non-friendlies, then he could further prosper with a better top nation. Huge if being, whether he'd be good enough. He'd certainly have better coaching and facilities to draw from... Canada offers so little.
I'm quite patriotic with hockey but a bit jaded & biased with our footy.

He apparently doesn't have his Canadian citizenship yet, so no he hasn't played for any of our national teams.

He's also from Calgary/Alberta, the gum on the bottom of the shoe for the CSA...so it will take someone from the CSA to accidentally stumble across this article to bother to look him up and give him a call (and of course lie to everyone that he's been on their radar for a while).

yep, and a lot of those types of clubs will make it known that it's in a players 'best interests' to focus on his club career if they aren't tied to one of the big nations
