I'm sorry this is some bull####.

I am not an NDP fan, but my complete and utter lack of faith & trust in the UCP & Smith compel me to vote against them.

Frankly, if you abstain you are complicit in their win.

Yup, at least own you don't dislike Smith enough to vote for NDP and just want to be able to say at least I didn't vote when she continues to do crazy ####

I got a letter in my mailbox the other day from a dude named Terry Vulcano who wrote that if you support the NDP and they get elected, he will personally hold you accountable for whatever goes wrong. I thought for sure it was a made up name but a quick google search showed that I was hilariously wrong.

https://infotel.ca/newsitem/former-v...w-lane/it65101

Imagine being so angry that people swim faster than you that you have to move to Calgary and sue the city of Vernon? Old man yelling at clouds over here haha.

Which is too bad, really. Long term, having 2 capable governments competing for your votes is a good thing. Always voting one way is like having a sole source supplier....nothing good comes of it unless you're the supplier.
What I'm expecting as well, this province continues to let me down over and over again. The only thing that will surprise me is a NDP win.

It amazes me how far people in this province will shoot themselves in the foot just to negatively impact other peoples lives (ie, protect against a way of life that isn't theirs) or help their own pocketbook. Albertans have a chance to redeem themselves, turn around the stereotype, actually show they have a head on their shoulders, but I'm afraid they'll just reinforce what we already know.

So your Airdrie vote won't matter to change the election, but you can vote to show the UCP you dislike their choices by tossing a vote for the NDP(or any other party if that is too hard for you).

The problem is a bit more complex than just this. If it's not her, it's someone like her but less known who's going to bend to that part of the party's supporters. The UCP essentially is a combined Conservative and Wild Rose party that got away from progressive ideals. So I think that's the real issue. The media in this country portrayed Kenny as a far right wing nut job...his own party saw him as a Communist Dictator who betrayed them

If the Alberta NDP was simply named the Alberta Progressive Party...they probably win this election convincingly.

The abstaining vote doesn't make sense for me. Cast your vote, even for the simple fact that you become one of those that voiced their opinion during the election.

Even in a riding that is a lost cause, it gives the populous that voice to be heard. Doesn't take much to stand up and say you are Spartacus. It may not be the result you want, but it tells them you aren't happy with them. That is what a democracy is all about.

The boneheaded waste of money that keeps on giving. "Go buy your own Tylenol" is the perfect example of the future of our healthcare system.

The only way that works is if they get rid of Notley and bring in some moderate small c Conservatives.

Like Progressive Conservatives

To be fair, I can't see Notley lasting much longer in the ANDP... not because she's a bad leader or anything has changed, but that she may be ready to just retire at this point. I hope I'm wrong on that though. If the ANDP lose tonight, I sure hope she stays on as the official opposition leader. EDIT: CBC just stated that they believe Notley will not stick around if the ANDP lose.

It was a surprise she stuck around in 2019. I believe she is/was the first ever Alberta Premier to lose an election and stay on as Leader of the Opposition. I guess because governments in Alberta don't change that often.

And the last one to do it Federally was John Turner, but he has only been PM 3 months.

Pretty sure if Danelle Smith loses tonight, she's not going to stay on as Opposition Leader.

Can we prepay for our hospital visit if we get sick? Would be kind of hard to pull out a credit card while simultaneously having a heart attack.

Likely to be dead before you can tape together the pieces of your health card anyway.

Actually Carter predicted both 45 and 46 NDP
