24-hour sports networks suffer from the same problems that 24-hour news networks do.

Forget the race aspect of it. The owner basically thinks of all his players as prisoners or inmates that he effectively owns. I mean we've all assumed that the NFL and its owners didn't give a #### about their players (if they did they'd have guaranteed contracts, better CTE protocols etc...) but this just shows what these guys really think of their cattle.

^ Agreed. I didn't even think of the possible racial angle to it, until reading the recent posts

This is awesome..when your head coach cares more about whats happening than the players...you have a big problem.
Quote:
"We're the worst offense in football. It's hard to go lower than that," Gase said at his Friday news conference, and the numbers back him up.
"I'm pissed. I'm tired of this. I'm tired of the offense being awful," Gase said. "Guys better need to get their heads right. Coaching staff needs to do a better job, because obviously our players not knowing [what to do] is a direct reflection of them."
"We're not putting the work in," he said. "That's what it comes down to. If you can't remember it, you shouldn't be in the NFL. At the end of the day, guys have got to actually take this stuff home and study it. They're not going to just learn it all in meetings. We've got to find guys that'll actually put forth effort to actually remember this stuff, and it starts with our best players."

Marcel Dareus traded for a sixth round pick to Jacksonville? That feels like peanuts for him.

It's like some of you have never worked for a large company or had any experience in management. I get why the players are upset and don't blame them but if you think management of any big company cares about their employees you are sadly mistaken as there's a reason they call it head count as that's because the employees are just warm bodies to be hired and let go as the company requires.
He also has a point in that the players are simply employees of the owners. If the owners feel kneeling during the anthem is hurting business they have the right to be able to ask their employees to stop it. I think the players need to understand that dropping ratings and attendance will end up hurting them in the long run as well as the next TV deals may not be as sweet and that means the salary cap will be affected. Sports is entertainment and a break from the day to day reality for fans and they don't want politics mixed in. The players can tweet whatever they want or kneel during anthems on their own time but if their employee expects them to stand during the anthem they should respect that just as our employers expect you and me to adhere to their dress and conduct policy.

Then fire them if you don't like it.
EDIT: It's weird that the same people who bitch about the players making political statements during their "work time" don't seem to have a problem with players thanking God, talking about religion or kneeling to pray when on TV.

Well Kaepernik essentially did get fired and a lot of you complained about it. Whether you want to do a TD dance or kneel and prey after making a TD I don't really care. I don't believe in any religion but I respect that others may have faith in an imaginary god however just as I don't watch Leonardo Dicaprio movies for his personal political opinion, I don't tune into NFL games to see players political views. I have no issues with actors that want to voice their political views on their own time and that goes for NFL players but when you are on the job be a professional.

I wan wondering if people were still having issues with Dazn. I've just been watching redzone and it's been perfect for me so far.

Stick with cable. Tried and true, worth the money if you are a dedicated sports fan.

Poor Miller. Finally was able to stay relatively healthy and was in a prime position to become the teams #1 target. Impressed he held on to the ball though

That's the point, I'd love to but I can't, the NFL forced it on us. I know Saints are on cable this week, but they usually aren't up here.
...and there's your makeup call, after Miller got screwed out of his TD earlier. There have been some ridiculous calls in this Saints/Bears game

Trubisky just doesn't seem to have it. I'm sure They will give him another season or two but it's not looking good. He could certainly use some real receivers as well... Chicago giving him no real opportunity to succeed.
That was a winnable game, Chicago lost it more than New Orleans won it

New Orleans certainly was doing their best to not win it down the stretch, that's for sure. Kamara may have just become the lead back
