I agree - his last season with Tottenham before Ramos arrived was fantastic - though, I don't think he'd fit into our team now with the amount of time Bale has been playing LW.

Fergie signs unkown £7.4m striker
Quote:
Mesut Ozil: Look at what you could've won
In what must surely be some sort of effort to outdo Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger in the obscure-signing stakes, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson pulled off a bona fide shock this week when he signed a homeless striker from the Portuguese lower leagues for £7.4 million.
Okay, so Bebe - full name Tiago Manuel Dias Correia - is no longer without a roof over his head but he was raised in an orphanage after spending part of his childhood on the streets and represented Portugal in the homeless World Cup.
Even more shocking is the news that just five weeks ago, before he signed for Portuguese Liga outfit Vitoria in early July, he was available on a free transfer after third division side Estrela Amadora failed to pay his wages.
£7.4 million! That would be enough to sign Germany World Cup star Mezut Ozil from Werder Bremen, but it seems Fergie has been reading too much Oliver Twist.

Woo hoo hoo!! I cant wait to see how this turns out! 7.4M??

A rumour that I would be fairly happy with...
Quote:
Despite reports suggesting he is on the verge of signing a new deal, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has actually already signed a four year-contract extension which will keep him at the Emirates until he is 65 - the deal will be announced later this week.

Manchester City complete signing of Mario Balotelli
Quote:
His signing takes City's spending this summer to well over £100m... Balotelli's arrival follows those of Jerome Boateng, David Silva, Yaya Toure and Aleksandar Kolarov.
|
Good god, when is this team going to realize that they can't just sign an all-star team and have it work. And they aren't even done making signings yet and they are already over 100 million pounds?

Not to mention the wages, good God the wages. Yaya Toure is making £200,000/week, god only knows how much Balotelli is making, probably something similar, dont forget that Robinho is making £160,000/week...
My God, let me look at this:
Yaya Toure - £200,000/week
Mario Balotelli - £180,000- £200,000 - Unconfirmed rumour
Robinho - £160,000/week
Adebayor - £150,000/week
Tevez - £150,000/week
Patrick Viera - £130,000/week
Kolo Toure - £120,000/week
Gareth Barry - £120,000/week
Wayne Bridge - £95,000/week
Thats £1,305,000 per week, for 9 players, 3 of which arent even regular starters, Adebayor, Bridge and Robinho. Hell, Robinho didnt even play for City last season.
And those are just the ones I could FIND. Holy CRAP.
Sweet Jesus, thats insane. Thats worse than 1990's United.

and they still don't have a "team"
they have a bunch of strikers and a bunch of wingers
at the back they are still terrible, their midfield isn't the best (Toure is good but City fans saying he is the best box to box midfielder in the world is laughable and Barry wouldn't start for any of the other top 6 or 7 teams)

Especially seeing how he was deemed to be surplus to requirements at, what is arguably, the best club in the World right now. In addition, I think over the last season or so he's shown that he may bring more negatives to the club than positives.

I like the loan signing of Welbeck too, I've really liked what little I've seen of him. Nedem Onuoha from Man City on loan too, looking forward to seeing how he does. The one thing I'm worried about right now is the lack of a target man, Bent, Campbell and Welbeck all play a similar style.
Sucks that Tottenham Man City is at 5:30 tomorrow, I really wanna watch it but not sure if I'll be able to get up haha..

Indeed - 4-0 was not what I was expecting from that game. That has to feel good for their supporters!

I always love to see City fail. You know, there is a rumour out there that they're willing to pay Ibrahimovic 500 000 euros a week to come to Manchester City....
Good for Blackpool, never liked Wigan that much. Can't wait to see my United beat the hell out of Newcastle.

Milner to Manchester City.
Bellamy on loan to Cardiff for the season.
And not EPL related, but Ozil to Real Madrid.

I know Bellamy lives there and is probly happy to go to Cardiff, but he also wanted to go to some Premier League clubs and Man City wouldn't allow it because they don't want to strengthen their competition
I wonder if that makes players think twice about joining them, Bellamy and Given were big signings and should be playing for top clubs but are likely to be at Cardiff and Fulham respectively this season.

Arsène Wenger has warned that the Premier League's new squad regulations could spark a wave of court cases as out-of-favour footballers seek to release themselves from their contracts.
The Arsenal manager is a critic of the quota system in which top-flight clubs must name a 25-man squad with a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players. Wenger believes that the new rules will force down the quality of the Premier League and 'paralyse' the transfer market.

Surprise, surprise, City sign Milner. Estimated £18M + £8M Steven Ireland goes back to Aston Villa. So effectively a £26M deal.
