People saying how dominant he was in his prime are right, although I disagree with him being a way above anyone else. Jagr had 149 points in 82 games in 95-96 season. In fact I think Jagr deserves "the best power forward in the nineties" title little bit more considering all those Art Ross trophies.
I think you're confusing "powerful forward" with "power forward." Jagr was incredibly strong and nigh impossible to knock off the puck. But power forward, as in a guy who hits, fights, plays with an edge, and obviously puts up points? No.
On another note, there's a post a few pages back saying Lindros was hands down the best forward in the game while in his prime. After the leafs signed him, I remember arguing with a leaf fan about the same thing. A great forward, sure. I don't know how anyone could say he was the best, bar none, though. Mario was in and out of retirement, so you could give Lindros the edge based only on that. Still, Forerg, Jagr & Sakic were arguably better than Lindros, never mind being unquestionably inferior. Then guys like Bure, Selanne, Hull, Francis, Fedorov and even Gretzky & Yzerman were at very least in the conversation.
He'd likely not suffer the concussion injuries and there's only 4-5 guys left in the entire league that are capable of standing up to him.
He would light everyone up and terrify them at the same time.
Yeah there are some players like Gretzky who I don't think would fare nearly as well in today's NHL but Lindros may have actually been better in today's game with the lack of obstruction and head hunters compared to the 90's.
You gotta think Lindros and Forsberg and those of their ilk had something to do with how the game evolved into the late 90s and early 00s. Teams had to load up on big strong defenders like Derian Hatcher, Adam Foote, Robyn Regehr, etc. Some of those guys could skate (Regehr) and others not so much. Added to that, we had 3 of the all-time great goaltenders in the league (Roy, Hasek, Brodeur) at once, and you suddenly get an emphasis on defending because teams that could keep their GAA down tended to succeed more.

So, Toronto ponied up a bag of pucks while the Flames tried giving away the franchise for a selfish narcissist momma's boy. Just glad Scott Stevens sent him down the right path. The price that the Flames would have to pay for Lindros afterwards would have been too enormous anyway if you they had issues paying Niewendyk and McInnis back in the day.

Even as a kid growing up in his home-town, I never thought of him as much more than a sniveling brat. There was also a Philly fan in my class who was pretty damn annoying, so that probably didn't help.
But watching Lindros highlights today (thanks for the necro-bump!) he was so much better than I ever gave him credit for. Not only was he a good fighter (didn't know he kicked Stevens ass a few times), but that shot was a weapon. If you took Reaves and pumped all of his stats in NHL19, you have Lindros. And that's terrifying.
If *I* was building a player from the ground-up though, it would probably end up Forsberg

Yeah...not cool man. It was Darien Kasperitis that delivered the initial blow, not Stevens.
And it was a fairly clean hit - even by today's standards.
The best/worst thing is the responses of the penguins players after the hit. You can tell Lindross was not loved. At all.

There is a video of sumos being used, but obviously with limited goalie skillset, and still being scored on relatively easy.
However, you aren't thinking heavy enough. Manuel Uribe was 1300 pounds and 6'5'', he would have covered nearly the entirety of the net on his side. Have him hold up a blocker and the corner would be covered. Make someone like him and you're unstoppable.
The obvious issue would be getting him to other arenas, but keeping him in the dome and you go 41-0-0 at home.

Johnny would have 100% shooting percentage on that sketch.
And Rangers ended up trading Weight for Esa Tikkanen, who had only one 20+ goal season the reason of his career and traded Amonte for Stephane Matteau and Brian Noonan who were obviously key parts of that 94 team but Amonte had six 30+ goal seasons and three 40+ goal seasons with the Blackhawks. Vanbiesbrouck was traded to Vancouver for futures.
But three first rounders and Kovalev would have been something.
Avs got lucky with Forsberg, he turned out better than Lindros.
Everyone knew Forsberg was good, but they didn't know he was going to be better than Lindros.
