The redesign caused me to switch from Instapaper (which I had paid for) to Pocket. I really love it.

Looking at iPhoto for the iPad, and I don't understand something. I realize it pulls photos from the internal Pictures library, so photos you sync from iTunes to the Pictures app are accessible in iTunes. If you edit photos on the iPad in iPhoto though, where do they go? Back to the Photos collection on the iPad? And if so, what happens when you next sync? Will it update your iPhoto library on your Mac automatically?
From my reading, it seems like the sync back from the iPad to the Mac is not integrated with iPhoto on the Mac. Is this correct?

I haven't used it on the iPad on account of it not working on the iPad 1, but Andy Ihnatko has a rather robust write-up on his experiences with it.

Try Docs To Go. It's a $9.99 you get word and excel (sheets) and from using a ton of bot on Office I would say its the best I've found but you won't find anything as good as the real deal of course.

I'm curious about this. I'm looking at the mid or top range one but don't want to buy if I need a connection because up in Jordan River you ain't getting nothing wifi or cellular.

I just disabled wifi and tried it. You can choose a city; but it only has major ones. For example it didn't have Banff or Canmore. It still had names for all the stars and planets, but didn't show any satellites.

Never thought about turning wifi off. seems like it would work alright maybe just not perfect.
Another noob question: if I bought an iPhone would I have to buy the app again or would it be free? Are all apps the same?
I hate myself for liking this thing!

If the app is Universal (indicated by a grey plus in iTunes) it will be for both iPhone and iPad- no extra charge. If the app is an iPad only version, then you would need to purchase the iPhone version.
Many apps are universal these days, and I love em for that!
Any iPhone app will work on iPad with iPhone resolution- but not vice versa (iPad only app won't work on iPhone).
Just look for the Universal app icon!

I just noticed you can put in longitude, latitude, elevation which will work out perfectly because I can get that info off my handheld GPS. And I'm sure you can find that info on google maps as well so if you know where you are going you can get an approximate.

Where do you put that in? I just tried on my iPhone and I couldn't find anywhere to enter co-ordinates. I'll have to try the iPad version tonight.

Don't apologize for people with antiquated non-retina display devices
(Here's hoping iPad images look small on the new Retina Macbooks.)

Yeah, it's weird but mine just allows me to pick a country and then city. I went to iTunes to see if it was due to there being an iPad/iPhone version- and I see that I am also supposed to have something where I can click on a planet and it gives a little blurb.

I just came across Tweetdeck today - I've not bothered with any social network aggregators before but I'm finding with multiple twitter accounts and a facebook account I'd like to keep up with it's probably something I should use.
Can anyone recommend one for the iPad (preferably one that also has a Mac app)?

You got the right app? what iPad and version of the app did you buy?
Yes you should be able to select a planet, star, constellation, etc. and it will give you a nice write up with pics for some things. This app has made me think about buying a telescope but I won't derail this thread too much more with that conversation.
Every person I have showed this app has bought it. Very, very cool! My favorite part might be the fast forwarding and rewinding so you can see what will be out in the sky that night, or in my case 1-3 months from now when I'm out in the middle of no where.

SkySafari 3 Plus and Pro are 25% off until May 21 (after the eclipse).

I have an iPad 2. The version of the app is 1.3.1
I did figure out the "more info" thing. That will only appear if you are holding the device in portrait mode; landscape doesn't give you that option.

So I wanted a way of streaming music from my iPad to my iPhone sitting in my speaker/doc set up in the living room. Dropped the $2.99 on Airfoil which does what I wanted... with some nice audio clicks/clipping noises the entire time.
Pretty annoying, feel kinda ripped off.
Anyone have a good solution for this? Basically use the iPhone as an Airplay receiver from the iPad?
