The graphics are meh at best, and the framerates on the PS3 are beyond annoying. Sooo many glitches so far in this game and i've only played it for 4 hours.
Im kind of dissapointed.

I don't get the PS3 framerate complaint. I wonder if it's just people with older systems?
I have one of the new slim PS3s and I have not once experienced a framerate issue. I'm playing a mage, too, with tons of AE effects etc.

I know it is supposed to be worse on the PS3, but my 360 copy runs perfectly fine. Maybe 1 hiccup but that's it.

My roommates Ps3 ran Dragon Age like crap in 1080p, so he had to throttle it down to 720p and it apparently runs just fine now.
He is using one of the old gargantuan ones mind you...
Game runs phenomenal on Windows 7 though.

Gah, another epic fail in the game. It's glitched two times now on the inventory screen and shut down my PS3.

My bad, I misunderstood a discussion on the DA boards; I thought it was an updated Aurora engine.
That said, I'd think it's still pretty forgiving of weaker systems. The environments look great but they're not using huge textures.

Yeah, I'd agree with that.

Playing more of the game, I'm slightly disappointed at how your origin really doesn't matter. Partial spoilers to follow:
I played the Dwarf Noble, and without spoiling too much, you have to go back to Ozrammar...
Obviously most people aren't dwarves, so all of the dialogue is usually like "oh you're an outsider" which is fine, except for the fact that I'm carrying the FREAKING AEDUCAN FAMILY SHIELD and people think I'm some nobody.
I was excited to find my right hand man too...but all it was was about 2 extra lines of dialogue, and he reverted to being a merchant that doesn't do anything extra.
Grrrr... I guess after the Dwarf Noble Origin I was really excited to go back and fight for the crown, get vengeance and all that but really it's the exact same experience as if I was an elf or a human.
Other than that, the story itself and all the different aspects (romances, interactions, side quests, combat, battles etc.) are all really fun.

**possible spoilers**
Anybody have trouble locating the Pearl in Denerim? I've checked every house in the town, I've read the Grey Warden poster, I've looked at the map for 10 minutes straight.... Where the hell is the goddamn Pearl? I don't like leaving quests unfinished so I would like to find where this building is. Can somebody tell me what quadrant of the map it's located in or how I can gain access to it, because I can't find this place anywhere.
Thanks

You can find the Pearl in the city map as a place you can travel to once you pick up the quests for it. SE quadrant I believe. The icon looks like...a pearl.

I swear either my game is bugged or I've become ######ed because I can't find this place for the life of me. I have two quests that involve going there (going by memory here) one is to find a body to dump in a well and the other is to kill a gang inside. Maybe I need to exit the town and zone back in, but there is no marker for it on my map and no door that say's anything close to The Pearl. Gahhh it's driving me nuts.
Edit: PC version of the game, if that makes any difference.

Yeah I was running around for a while. Get to the menu where you'd normally see the map and then expand it. Press whatever it says in the bottom right corner.
Then you can travel to the Pearl. It is like a mini world map for Denerium.
Wade in Denerium is freaking hilarious.
