How's this for elitist, I'm a Mac user, with a macbook running Snow Leopard and Windows 7 simultaneously, and I'm also a stock holder in Apple.

So I get to have my cake and it fellates me too.

By uploading a virus into the alien ship? All I can remember from that movie is that insanely stupid speech by the president.

It could be any guy in those commercials and they would still be f-ing stoopid.

Soon as you can get me a price on a 27" IPS screen with LED back-lighting and a 2560 x 1440 resolution, we'll continue this conversation.

Oh wait a minute... you were making a serious argument? When you commented that Mac guy saved the world with a PC in Die Hard, I thought you were just being humorous... I mean, I know it really happened... in a movie...

I'm a gonna let you guys continue,

No fix other than disable the guest account.

Continue on.

Depending on what you are using the computer for, Mac's are ok, and if you don't mind the additional expense great!

Ever since they switched over to intel chips, and the advent of tiger, they're pretty much a more upscale proprietary freebsd vendor, with their own range of products.

You mean like how Microsoft started as a more upscale, proprietary vendor of CPM, right?

Or were you reffering to IBM, who refused to license the BIOS and required Compaq to reverse engineer the BIOS in a cleanroom?

Uh oh... are we really going to start comparing Operating System failures? I would think that's the one area that PC people would want to steer clear of. Mac OS is not 100% iron clad. No one ever said it was. Should we start examining the security and solidity of the various Windows versions?

I honestly don't have that kind of time, and I'm pretty sure that much text would just crash the forum software anyway.

This is life. So go and have a ball. Because the world don't move to the beat of just one drum. What might be right for you may not be right for some. You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have...my thoughts on the personal computing market.

Sit, Ubu, sit. Good dog.

You're really fixated on that monitor. It makes me jealous thinking of how the red in the CP banner must really POP. Take some screen shots of Modern Warfare 2 when it comes out - I bet it looks great.

Will do!

(I don't have one of the new 27" iMacs, but I certainly like the way you think!)

Edit: Although, now that I think about it, you won't even be able to see it all anyway. Since the resolution on those 27" screens is much much much larger than yours, you'll only be able to see a small portion of the screenshots on your monitor (regardless of the size). It's ok though, I think PCs support horizontal scrolling so you should almost be able to get the same effect.

Weren't you this guy 3 months ago? haha

Q9550 Intel Core 2 Quad 2.83Ghz Processor with 12MB Cache
8GB DDR3 RAM at 1066MHz
1TB (1000GB) 7200RPM SATA II Hard Drive
ATI Radeon HD 4850 XT 512MB Video Card
6x Blu-Ray Burner (Reads/Writes Blu-Ray, DVD DL, DVD, CD, etc)
18-in-1 Media Card Reader
Gigabit Ethernet Port
N Wireless Card
64 Bit Vista Home Premium
1YR On-Site, Next Business Day Service (Warranty)

Also includes 24" full 1080p monitor!

Just bought everything 3 weeks ago. Paid $1800 (on sale, was $2300 regular price) for the tower and $300 for the monitor. Unfortunately, it was another impulse purchase which I am now regretting. I tend to do this kind of thing every once in a while...

Anyway, I have full receipts for everything as well as all the boxes, manuals, etc.

Willing to sell everything for $1400.

Oh come on!!! I demand more of a reaction than that!!

PC vs. MAC will be around forever. Fanboys from both sides have lost sight of the real picture which is 'WHAT ARE YOU USING IT FOR' make your choice from there. O/S will come and go but Windows 7 is rock solid and shouldn't be so easily dismissed by the MAC userbase.

I play a lot of games - a mac is useless to me (please don't bring up boot camp)
My wife checks facebook/email - a netbook was perfect.

The thing that worries me about Mac is:
repair costs
integrated components - can't remove/replace yourself.
non-upgradeable - you ride it out till you need a whole new one

Mac are a overpriced for almost the same hardware - it seems that owning a MAC has become more of an image question than a computing one and that bothers me a lot.

The resolution on a screenshot you don't have the ability to take? I'm confused.

Yep, that was me! Notice how the regular price was $2300 it was just a tower buy itself without a monitor? The monitor was another $300.

I got the tower on sale for $1800... plus $300 for the monitor is $2100...

Wait, what was your point, again?

Thanks for reminding me about a time in my life when I overspent and had to take a pretty embarrassing hit in order to (quickly) catch up on a couple of unexpected payments by the way. Much appreciated, for sure.

Meaning, I assume, the game isn't coming to mac for a looong time?

I know, you don't play games. Good thing you bought that mac to check email and surf porn.
