Californian company Moller International have made science fiction a reality with the Moller M400 Skycar aircraft, with a maximum speed of 360 mph
Flying cars are one of my pet peeves. A large part of society (ie. grandmas) can barely master driving on flat 2D surfaces, yet we expect them to fly in 3D? Even the smallest bumper hump in the air could be disastrous, there would be flying hunks of metal falling from the sky daily. The whole idea is simply unrealistic and yet some clown is always trying to build one. Pshhawww....

Ohhh i agree. Still it would be nice to have my own prototype so i could fly over the Deerfoot while REDVAN and 4x4 have to deal with people driving slow in the left lane
While Jaguar maybe becoming more cutting edge, I also feel like they are becoming a little more generic in terms of appearance, and getting a little lost in the group. While the older models might not have been great, they were never going to be mistaken for anything other than a Jag. The new models seem to have a little bit of Aston Martin/Tesla Model S/Maserati in them....all nice looking cars, but everyone kind of loses their place when looks begin to merge.
I love my 94 XJ6. There are others from the 90s i don't like at all. One of the things I like about mine is that it has a nice bit of chrome.
Whats the use of driving a BMW if you won't take it on the highway?
Also, which Beemer does your husband have again that was $35k? I might want to upgrade my squeeky-sedan for one of those snazzy Beemers once I get a job. Driving down the CA coast in a family car sedan just isn't the california experience, so I'm enticed to pick up something more "californian"...
Why would you think you can't test drive it on the high way?
He has the BMW 128i......the 135i is also under 40K...same car but turbo. With red leather interior its a BEAUTY. Yeah...no sedans for us. Not driving a boat in the Bay Area..parking is a biatch.

Phanuthier..
I forgot to mention..BMW has a great deal right now (my husband and I did this) where if you opt for the European Delivery program, you get to take 5% or so off of MSRP, plus get a buy one get one free deal where you get to fly Lufthansa to Germany. You PICK UP your car at the BMW plant in Munich...get 14 days there...can return your car in a large variety of European cities, your car insurance is paid for....and they pay to ship the car back. Not bad eh? They dont do it for all the BMWs...but the 1 series is definitely on there!
PS dont go to BMW Stevens Creek..its a rip off. Go to BMW East Bay in Pleasonton...they dont mark up their prices. We bought about 6 months ago and did our research and had a wonderful experience!

I just bought one of these....supercharged, chipped with a bunch of other tunes done to it. I wanted one from the second I saw them and finally found one in my price range.
I'm running about 600HP right now, and it makes me grin even thinking about it.

Good advice. I'm in the east bay and am looking at buying. I've heard it's hit or miss depending on the dealership so I've been looking for one that's recommended.

Are you in Pleasonton? Oakland? Berkeley?

Yeah BMW East Bay is definately better than the Mountain View, San Jose, Concord or SF locations. Not only did we buy a BMW 1 series from them, but we also bought a MINI Cooper (my car) from the MINI dealership that is attached to the BMW dealership for all of the Bay Area locations except Stevens Creek.
The name of the guy you should go talk to is Phil Wilts or Wieltz or something like that..Phil W. Tall guy, African American..really nice man, knows his stuff..and wont hassle you.
In fact, I was just at the dealership today since they had this fancy wine and cheese event for people who bought this past year. it was all you could eat/drink for 15 bucks! Band and everything...they unveiled the new BMW Z4 as well as the MINI Cabriolet convertible.
So def go to that dealership..they tend to have more cars than some of the other locations on their lot as well, so you can really see what you want. And ask about the Euro delivery program too!
