This is a me problem and in no way is meant to say he's a bad coach or bad at his job but....
I don't like listening to Huska. Just a droning monotone voice that grinds my gears.
And that as a fan consuming all things Flames content we are getting waaaay more commentary so it's just compounding.

He's even keel. Perfect for a leader. I bet when he raises his voice every once in a while it really gets the boys' attention. I truly believe that the majority of a coach's job is emotional management. They have a whole staff for the Xs and Os, but Huska's main job is to steer the ship and keep everyone on board with the plan. I sense calm determination with Huska, and that's exactly the attitude I'd want for our team.

I agree, but also wanted to point out in this episode, they had a clip of Huska during game tape reviews, pointing out the x's and o's to the team, talking to them about options they have available and yes, to do everything with speed.
This series is awesome, fans are going to be pissed if they don't keep this up every year!
Andersson is super vocal in the room which isn't surprising but awesome to see. There was a clip of him putting his arm around Kuzmenko, get the feeling they're very close. And from the clip below and players' reactions when they choose Kuzmenko, it appears he's extremely popular with the team and a great piece of the room.
EDIT - still watching the episode but felt the need to add how hilarious it is that Ras is staring some poor fan in the crowd after every goal that he scores
That slow motion shot of Coleman throwing his hair back is so funny to me. ‘Alright boys that’s some f****** Vidal Sassoon s*** let’s f****** go! Way to go Colsey!’
In all seriousness though that is an elite hockey mane.
Also you can see how shipping out players who wanted to move on and replacing them with Lomberg energy would transform the room.

1. Coleman is the man and still my current favourite player.
2. Its almost like Conroy knows what he's doing...

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

1. What has happened to the Flames media team this season? This is an incredible and brilliant change. Well done.
2. My respect level for Mikael Backlund was already high, but this is awesome. What a terrific captain he is—he carries himself like a savvy, on-ice coach; an extension of the coaching staff.
3. Speaking of coaches, Ryan Hyska strikes me as an underappreciated gem. He just exudes confidence and competence. His bit about "playoff hockey" at the start had me dying to know what five things were written on that whiteboard.

1. Start every game and every period the right way. Starting a game or a period when you're not focused and ready leads to mistakes, momentum for the other team and chasing the game. Always start the right way. Do not chase the game.
2. Do everything with speed. Get in on the forecheck with speed. Come back on the backcheck with speed. Transition with speed.
3. Don't get too high or too low. We reset after we score a big goal and we reset after they get a big goal. Focus on your next shift and try to win all of your shifts.
4. We're in this together. Support each other out there by finding open areas for your teammates, covering for each other when #### happens, and playing together as a single unit. Be connected and play connected.
5. We need to dictate the game and how the game will be played. We do this by doing all of the above. Things won't always go our way every game, but if we stick to the foundations of our system and execute the way we can and have showed we can, we will be a lot harder to beat than those people out there think and come out on top most of the time, as you all have shown.

Huska has always reminded me of Paul Maurice - calm and collected, thoughtful, smart hockey guy, but fiery when he needs to be. The others have insisted that he gets pretty intense behind closed doors and on the bench and I don't think we as fans get to see that much - but might it be as fiery as Maurice, even though I feel he's gotten more fiery with age.

Came here to post this as well. The man loves scoring away goals, and I love watching it.

Neat seeing Backlund call the team out at one point.
"Character shows now. What kind of group are we? What kind of leaders do we have? What kind of individuals do we have here? Time to step up everyone here. Zary today was our best and he's one of the smallest guys on the team, ####ing played his heart out. Everybody should follow ####ing Zar next game."
